Hello!
Ok, first let me start by saying that I will name this polish YDKJ from now on. I mean, come on, who comes up with these way too long names. It´s ridiculous!
I really actually like this one, although I didn´t care much for the regular YDKJ. It was too dark for my skintone I guess. I´m still on the hunt for the perfect taupe for my skintone and I´m guessing Orly Country Club Khaki might be it. But ok, back to this suede beauty.
Easy to apply, but you really have to work fast, because of the quickdry formula. Perfect polish when you´re in a rush. I don´t like the suede finish, but I love how it looks with a coat of topcoat.
I used two coats.
And wow, I can´t believe it, I actually reached 500 followers!! So awesome! Thank you all so much!
For lots of other bloggers 500 seems like a small amount of followers. But I never expected to reach this amount. I can see I´m not nearly as good as other bloggers in taking pics and having flawless skin and cuticles, so that´s why I´m super happy with all the ladies that are interested in what I have to show here. Thanks again!
Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

piCture pOlish blog fest: Cowboy
Goodmorning on this kind of special day!
Two months ago the ladies from Picture Polish sent out an email asking who wanted to enter their Blog Fest. Meaning: lots of blogs posting Picture Polish shades on the same day. The polishes were provided by them for free. Which is extremely kind!! I decided it would be fun to participate. Of course they got lots of emails, but I was lucky to be chosen to represent the Netherlands :-)
The shade I received was Cowboy. It's a very nice taupe creme. Maybe you can even call it almost milk chocolate. Very work appropriate, which is a good thing, because I don't have a lot I can wear to work, haha.
I totally liked the brush and the application. Flawless and smooth. And it was opaque in just one coat. How great is that?! Always a good thing! What usually happens with me and 1 coat cremes, is that it somehow starts to crackle (yes, almost like shatter polish) when I apply topcoat, but no such thing happened. Another plus!!
There was a downside though. The polish chipped within a few hours. That's not something I'm used to. Since I received this polish for free and didn't want to be impolite, but at the same time I really want to be honest to my readers. So I contacted the ladies from Picture Polish and explained them my dilemma. They totally understood that I didn't want to lie and told me to write whatever I want to write about it. And they also explained that Picture Polish is supposed to be a 2 coat system. I was supposed to try that before this Blog Fest, but I just didn't have time. So eventhough it's opaque in just 1 coat, you should just use 2 to avoid chipping.
And if you are wondering if this shade is pretty on other skin tones too, I can tell you it definitely is. I tried it on 2 nails of my daughter, her skin is a few tones darker than mine, and it looked even more beautiful. Since she really hated the color, she wouldn't even let me take a picture of it, hahaha. But I can imagine that. She's a kid, she just wants bright colors.
Enjoy the pics and enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by!
one more thing: if you know any other blogs that participate in this blog fest, please leave me a comment :-)

Nubar Gem + bonus pic
Goodmorning to you all!
Today I´ve got a polish for you that I have worn before, but I think I haven´t shown you this before. This polish in my opinion is pretty unique. It´s even quite difficult to discribe the color, but I´ll do my best. It´s sort of a light taupe with a pink flash/duochrome and packed with holo glitter. Awesome! Had a hard time photographing it, I made some pictures while I was in traffic jam (didn´t find any other time with daylight to make pics). Hope you´ll like them anyway.
This is 3 coats of Nubar Gem with tc.
Stunning, don´t you think? I do hate that I didn´t get better pics of this pretty.
And for the bonus: My daughter did an ombre mani with purple polishes with holo glitter.
Aw, my sweet love! Isn´t this just cute? I was sorting out my collection and while doing that my daughter went through all my polishes with me and decided to use all these shades.

China Glaze Channelesque with Essence Louise
Hello
Last week I did a mani that I´ve seen on someone else like half a year ago. I don´t remember who it was, sorry. I was wearing China Glaze Channelesque to work, but when I got home I needed some bling on a very windy and rainy day. So that´s when I thought of the great mani I saw six months ago. I pulled out Essence Louise (one of the twin polishes) and layered it over Channelesque. Louise has purple and dark pink glitter in different sizes and shapes. It looks great over the taupe with purple tones of Channelesque!
I think Louise looks like a purple and pink version of China Glaze Party Hearty (which I will be showing you soon)
So, what do you think? Cool isn´t it?!
That´s it for today ladies. Thanks for stopping by!

Claire's Rockstar
Goodmorning!
We're approaching the end of the year. It's already november, can you believe it?! It just goes so fast. I remember spending Christmas and New Years in the mountains of Austria last year like it was last week, and now we're only 2 months away from celebrating 2011.
Today I have a foil polish to show you. This one was sent to me by Elaine from LacquerLaine.blogspot.com as an extra surprise in a swap. Thanks Elaine! I had never even seen swatches of it before, but it's actually a very pretty polish. It's a brown, maybe even dark taupe foil by de name of Claire's Rockstar.
Here are the pictures. This is 2 coats plus topcoat.
Pretty nice don't you think? Well, I was positively surprised on how much I liked it!
Hope to see you all back here tomorrow!
Take care,
Miranda

Paradoxal with something extra
Hi ladies!
As promissed I´m showing you my solution to the hidden purple shimmer of Chanel Paradoxal. I can´t stand it when a shimmer hardly shows up. A few weeks ago I ordered two of the CND effects. One of them is Violet Shimmer. I thought it would be a nice extra for Paradoxal.
That´s better, don´t you think? At least now can actually see the purple shimmer. I think it´s a success.
That´s it for today. Hope you´ll all have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by and till tomorrow!

Chanel Paradoxal
Hi ladies!
Today I´ve got my very first Chanel to show you. After seeing lots of swatches I knew I just had to have this one. My wallet is crying, but for once it just didn´t bother me.
So on wednesday night I used this polish. When applying I already noticed it was a lot darker than I expected it to be. And I didn´t see the purple shimmer at all. But I was sure I would see it in daylight, no doubt about it. And I was wrong... you hardly ever see the purple shimmer... That´s a huge disappointment for me. Now it´s just kind of a brown creme, not even taupe. It´s too dark to be a taupe in my opinion. Not all that impressive. I have thought of a sollution for that, I will show you that somewhere this weekend. So make sure you don´t miss it.
But for now I can only show you the pictures of Chanel Paradoxal by itself. I tried my best to catch some of the purple shimmer. Application was good, and it´s 2 coats on the pictures.

The last picture is what you see most of the time.
What do you think of Paradoxal? Is it just that some people can make great pictures? Do you own it yourself? And do you think it was worth the money?
Make sure to visit me this weekend to see what I came up with to make this as pretty as I expected it to be.
Have a great day!

China Glaze Channelesque
Hello
Yes, it´s almost weekend!! Well, for most of you, not for me. I´m free on saturday and have a very busy schedule. Sunday I have to work.
I´d like to show you my one and only taupe. Ok, that´s not completely true, I also have OPI you don´t know Jacques suede. I´ve never been a great fan of taupes, but it is a good shade in the categorie "work appropriate colors". I received this one in a swap. And I have to admit, I love it! Never thought I would, just wanted to try a taupe for a change. But this leans a very little bit to lilac, that helps probably. Also not a big fan of cremes and normally I´m not a huge fan of China Glaze either, but this one is great! Very smooth application and opaque in one coat. Taking pictures was a different story though...

What do you think of taupes? And should I get more of them? Or do you think it doesn´t suit me?
Enjoy your friday!
Love,
Miranda
