Orly Country Club Khaki with a twist

Hello ladies!

Oh wow, I can´t believe it has been almost a month since my last post! Sometimes I think I should just quit my blog, because it´s very hard to find time to post anything. But I love blogging when I have time, and I shouldn´t feel obligated to post every day. I hope people like my blog eventhough I´m not here every day.

Well, I do have something awesome to show you. I finally got Orly Country Club Khaki. Yay! And I applied like butter and is a lot more opaque than I expected. I only used 1 coat! Unbelievable! It´s a very pretty nude shade. But I decided I wanted something extra pretty. So I did some stamping with white Konad polish. And this is what it turned into.

I truly think this is a very beautiful combination. Nude with a twist. This is definitely something I will wear more often.

Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday shopping, BIG TIME!

Hi ladies!

I´ve been home now for a few days and what an amazing holiday it was! I loved Miami, I loved the Bahamas and I loved the cruise ship. And of course I did "some" shopping. I´ve read about all these stores in the US that lots of you ladies visit frequently. For me it was awesome! Walking right into Ulta while up till then I had only read about it. And Walgreens, Forever21, CVS, Ross, Icing, Del Sol and more. Just seeing all these great brands that I love displayed right in front of me. Some stores I haven´t found unfortunately (like Sally´s, Target, Walmart, Rite Aid) but I did some big time hauling. I tried only picking the ones that I had on my wishlist but I failed miserably. Bought a total of 31 polishes and 2 of the newest Konad plates, ooooppsss!

So here we go, this is what I got.

Butter London No More Waity Kaitie + remover

Color Club Back To Boho set (yes, the cheap 8 dollar sets are really sold at Ross)
Boho Mojo, Nouveau Vintage, Voodoo You Do, Artsy Crafty, Blue-topia, Rebel Spirit

Icing: Chrome Navy Blue, Irish Gold, Epic Winning, Vampire Blood, Witches Brew, Starlight

Orly Fowl Play, Orly Nite Owl, Orly Out Of This World, Zoya Neeka, Zoya Yara, OPI It´s My Year, OPI ds Top Coat

Sinful Colors Let Me Go, Wet ´n Wild Back Alley Deals, Wet ´n Wild Teal Of Fortune, Piggy Polish The Right To Bare Feet, Milani Blue Lightening

Nicole Me + Blue, Sally Hansen Icequeen, L`oreal Owl´s Night, Confetti Ice Ice Baby, Love & Beauty Shimmering Grey

M84 and M85

Besides all these brands I´ve seen many more and mostly at places I didn´t expect them.

The Piggy Polish is unlabled, so I´m not sure it´s the right name... I actually found another one that looks a lot like it.

So what do you think ladies? Ready to see swatches? I´ve already used No More Waity Kaitie while I was on holiday. And OMG, the worst application ever!! Did I get a bad bottle or did you guys experience it too? I can´t even describe all the problems I had. I really hope some thinner would do the trick. I haven´t even made pictures of it.
I also used Blue Lightening, which I think is pretty close to OPI ds Magic. Will make a comparison some day. I did take pictures of this, so you´ll see that one soon.

Thanks for visiting!

Bloom Bianca + stamping

Hi there!

Today a quick one. 2 weeks ago I showed you Bloom Bianca and today it´s back with a konad on top. I used China Glaze Cherish and plate BM-201.

I like how these colors combine. And I love this pattern! You will be seeing this again on my blog, I´m sure.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamping with Peridot

Hi there!

I must admit that I kind of stole this idea from AmyGrace. Thanks for posting that awesome post!

Since I don´t own a dark green creme and I also don´t own the polish she used for stamping, I decided to use China Glaze Jolly Holly as my base color and Chanel Peridot for the stamping.

In some angles you could see the duochrome of Peridot, but it was hard to capture on camera.

I used 2 thin coats of Jolly Holly, although you could get away with 1 thick coat too.

Since there was no sun that day I also made 1 picture under lamp light.

Of course this isn´t anywhere near as beautiful as AmyGrace´s creation. But I think no one could beat her :D. I just don´t have a great skin like hers, great nail like hers and most important I don´t have her skills in nail painting/clean-up/photography. She´s the best!! Amy Grace, thanks for the inspiration!!

Thanks for watching!

Glitter Gal Dark Green Sparkle + accent nail

Hi ladies!

For today I´ve got a Glitter Gal polish for you. I have to say that I love their colors, but honestly, they are way too expensive. You pay $15 for 9ml, which is a very small bottle. I know, there are more brands that are too expensive for the amount of polish you get, but still...

The color I´m showing you today is Dark Green Sparkle. Unfortunately it´s not the kind of green I was hoping for and expecting, but it still is really beautiful! It leans more to a dark teal than an actual dark green.

The coverage on this one is good, 2 coats for full opacity. Application wasn´t that easy, because of the small brush and small cap. Not my kind of thing. But the wear was really good! The pics were taken after 2 full days, and hardly any tip wear.

For the accent nail I used China Glaze He´s Going In Circles, this was rather sheer, I had to use 3 thick coats. And I used one of the bundlemonster plates for the leaves and stamped with China Glaze Jolly Holly, which is a green I love.

As you can see, it is not really an in your face holo unfortunately. I was really hoping for that. I still find the color pretty though.

I think this combination looks pretty! The contrasting green holos are nice. First I was thinking of using Nubar Reclaim for the accent nail, but it is a linear holo, so it didn´t really match in my opinion.
Any of you have a nice recommendation for a green holo which is like Jolly Holly colorwise??

Thanks for stopping by!

White + stamping

Goodmorning ladies!

Today a short one. I finally used China Glaze Snow. Oh man, I really don't like applying white polish. You see every single mistake... And this one was supposed to be quite opaque, but still needs 3 coats.

For the stamping I used Kleancolor Metallic Red, China Glaze Harmony and China Glaze Admire. And one of the new bundlemonster plates.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

Gosh Holographic + stamping

Goodmorning!

So it has been sunny a lot lately, that means: holo!! Today I´m showing you Gosh Holographic with some stamping. I´ve used Holographic before but application was just horrible. I´ve read at a lot of places that Nfu Oh Aquabase or Gosh Fix Base could do the trick. So I finally bought Fix Base. And it was great! Holographich applied like butter. So easy! I used 2 coats.

For the stamping I used Konad Black and an A image plate. These plates have huge full nail images. And somehow it wasn´t too easy to work with. I actually failed miserably at my pinkie. Well, from a distance no one will notice, haha.

Here´s the result.

Pretty nice, right?!

Enjoy your day!

Nfu Oh 67 with stamping

Hi ladies!

For todays manicure I was actually planning another gradient mani. Well, I failed miserably, hahaha. I should really learn the sponge technique, that would make it a lot easier to do a nice gradient. But ok, so I removed it and started with something completely different. I was just going through my stash and instead of picking one of my untrieds (which I always try to do) I chose 2 colors I've used before. For the base color I used 2 coats of Nfu Oh 67 which is a foil blue. Very pretty!! It dries fast and applies very easy. For the stamping I used an image plate by Essence and China Glaze Little Drummer Boy. I think these 2 colors match very well.

Here are the pictures

Do you like it? I really like the combination.

The Essence full nail images are large enough for the nail, unlike the first set of Bundle Monster plates. I'm now waiting for the second set of BM plates, I've read they are big enough to cover the whole nail and I've seen some pretty amazing images already, so I'm really excited about them.

Thanks for stopping by!

9 month anniversary

Hi ladies!

Today is my 9 month blog-anniversary. And I was thinking how my blog just grew like a baby grows in 9 months in his mommies stomach, LOL. From being "nothing" to being ready to face the world. Well, at least I think my blog is ready now, my nails look better, my skills have improved, even my pictures are better nowadays. It´s nowhere near perfect yet and will probably never be, haha, but I´m quite satisfied. To celebrate I decided to do the same mani as I did as my very first NOTD.

Here we go: Urban Decay Bruise with a konad of China Glaze Harmony with plate M65

I used 2 thin coats of Bruise to still show the purple in it.  Seriously, I still don´t like how blogger turns my pictures dull. My pics were really showing the green in Bruise, but you can hardly see it at all.

Here are some bonus pics of Urban Decay Bruise on its own.

I really think this is an awesome color. Maybe you should just click the pictures to enlarge them and show you the awesomeness.

Essence Image Plate

Happy Easter!

Today I want to show you one of the Essence image plates. I've only got 2 of them which are both full nail images.

I used the black konad polish and put it over Funky Fingers Golden Coast.

As you can see on my index finger, it is a bit tricky to catch the stamp. I had to press harder than I usely do. But besides that it is just fine for the price you pay for it (don't exactly remember how much it was, but it was cheap)

Thanks for watching and enjoy your day!

Silver stamping

Hello!

About 2 weeks ago I saw these nail sticker things (the ones you use instead of nail polish, don´t remember the name) in a silver zebra print. I liked the combo so I decided I could do that myself. So I used Nubar Twilight Matte as a base and stamped the zebra print on top with China Glaze Millennium. I was quite satisfied with the result.

Here are the pictures.

In the sun this was actually pretty cool! Some sparkles came through because of the matte base with topcoat. But my sun pictures failed, haha.

What do you guys think? Pretty cool right?

Thanks for watching!

Gosh Holographic for stamping!

Hi ladies!

Today I've got some konad for you with one of my favorite patterns (together with the rose pattern). For my base color I used China Glaze Branding Iron. This is a deep dark red, very pretty. I'm not really into red at all, but this very deep shade I like very much. And opaque in just 1 coat. Win!
For stamping I used Gosh Holographic. I have tried China Glaze OMG for stamping before, but I wasn't all that impressed. Holographic is just a lot more holo so a lot better for stamping too.

Here are the pictures.

On the first pic (daylight with a little bit of sun) the holo is really visible. And you can also see I didn't use topcoat, haha. This was the morning after I applied it and you can see that some part of the stamp was gone. You should definitely enlarge the first pic.
The second was taken right after I applied it and under a lamp.

And here's a pic of Branding Iron on its own

Well, that's all for today. Thank you for stopping by!

Stamping with Adore and Cherish

Goodmorning!

After wearing Rodeo Fanatic for a day I really thought it could use some konad. I decided to use 2 colors from the Romatique Collection, Cherish and Adore. I think they match very well with the color of Rodeo Fanatic. After stamping I found out that you couldn´t see the difference in shades very well, Cherish and Adore seem like the exact same color, bummer!

Well, here are some pictures.

Even in the last picture (daylight) you can´t see it. In fact, if I would say it was Millennium I used for stamping, you would probably believe it as well.
I do like how this looks all together!

Thanks for stopping by!

Zoya Roxy + Konad

Hi dear readers!

Remember I showed you Zoya Roxy a week ago? Well, after a day and a half it was still perfect, so I didn´t want to take it off just yet, so I decided to add some konad. Stamping is definitely my favorite nail art. I´ve got many nail stickers that I´ve never used, and also some other nail art stuff, but I only use my stamping kit.

So, here we have 3 coats of Roxy stamped with China Glaze Millennium. I think it was plate M65.

As you can see on my pinkie, I´m just not perfect at stamping, never will be, haha.

Enjoy your day!

Holo konadicure

Hello ladies!

Yesterday I showed you a pretty awesome silver holo. Since I really didn't want to take it of just yet and it was still sunny (huray, 2 days of sun in a row!) I decided to do a holo konad thing. So on top of Ozotic 618 (a silver holo) I used Color Club Revvvolution and stamped an image from huge plate A21. These A series imageplates are really big. Not only the size of the imageplate but also the size of the images. This means that even if you have long nails, you don't have to double stamp.

Here's the result.

And because of all the holo you can hardly see the image, haha, so I made a picture for you without direct light.

I think it´s about time I file my nails down again, they are really getting too long, I like them better a bit shorter

Thanks for stopping by!

Konad with China Glaze Admire

Hello ladies!

I realized I hadn´t shown you a konad creation in a while now. And since I recently got the new Essence imageplates I decided to give you some konad today. The stupid thing is that each time I use stamping nail art I get reminded how much I like it. Why don´t I use it more often?? I´ve got lots of images that I have never used.

Well, ok, so finally some konad again, yay! I used China Glaze Admire to do the stamping. Now I can almost hear you thinking: "Isn´t that a pink polish?" And the answer is: yes. I´m still looking for a perfect light purple metallic polish to stamp with, something as pigmented as Romantique and Khrome collection from ChG, but I haven´t found it yet, so for now a light pink will do.
Oh, and I used yesterday´s Eggplant Frost to stamp on.

Well, ok, I´m still not great at stamping. But from a distance you don´t see all my flaws :-)

Till tomorrow!

Just playing around with konad

Goodmorning!

Last wednesday I really wanted to do some konad since I hadn´t been doing that in a long time. A few weeks I told you about the image plates I ordered from http://nail-artwaterdecals.blogspot.com/ so it is time to show you one.
Since I always make a mess with konad and I couldn´t find my remover pen, the swatches aren´t very good. I even had to photograph my right hand, since my left hand was even worse. I´m sorry for the mess.

I used China Glaze Little Drummer Boy, which is opaque in just 1 coat and really smooth. For the image I used one of the huge A-series plates (I think it was number 21) and China Glaze 2030, which I seem to use a lot for stamping. I just really like the combination of dark blue and gold.

I do really like the image and the combination of colors, but I should have really done clean up and moisturize before showing this. Sorry!
The good thing about these huge A serie plates is that you don´t have to work really detailed to get a full nail coverage. Which is really a good thing for me!

Thanks for watching and I promiss to give you better stuff again tomorrow!

Looking for interesting and affordable imageplates?

Just today I found out about a lady that sells imageplates for reasonable prices.

We all know about the regular Konad imageplates but they cost 5 euro each, not that cheap, considering they don´t have a lot of images on each plate.
Then most of you have heard about the Bundlemonster plates. You can buy them through Amazon. They are cheap, low shipping too. I remember paying around 19 euro (including shipping) or something for the complete set of about 20 plates. But the full nail images are actually a bit small, they don´t completely fit on my nails.
Then there´s ChezDelany who sells lots of imageplates in the A-, B-, H- series, prices are ok. But at http://nail-artwaterdecals.blogspot.com/ you can also get the A-series and now with a special december offer they only cost 15 euro for 5 plates. You can choose whatever you like. And the more you buy, the cheaper it gets!
Here´s a list of prices:

December sale prices:
5 for 15,- euro.
10 for 29,- euro.
15 for 43,- euro.
20 for 57,- euro.
25 for 71,- euro.
30 for 85,- euro.
35 for 99,- euro.
40 for 113,- euro.

Prices after december sale:
3,75 euro per image plate.
10 for 35 euro.
20 for 65 euro.
40 for 120 euro.

I´ve just ordered 5 and paid 1,76 euro for shipping. Not bad! She also accepts paypal and will ship international too.
She also sells water decals. I´m not into that so go check it out yourself. And she´s planning to get her home-made imageplates up for sale soon. You can take a look at her blog for examples.

And don´t forget about my giveaway: http://miranniesnails.blogspot.com/2010/11/holiday-giveaway.html

Nfu Oh 68 and some konad

Goodmorning ladies!

It´s saturday and I don´t have to work!! That feels great! So for today I have a great polish for you (aren´t they all? :P) It´s one of my Nfu Oh´s. This brand is mostly famous for their great flakie and holo polishes, but they do have some other very stunning shades as well. The one I´m showing you today is number 68, a purple foil. Wow! I don´t have anything like this in my stash and I don´t think I´ve seen many swatches of purple foils either.

Since it´s a nice foil I decided to do an accent finger with another foil: Orly Shine. I did a purple konad over this and I really like the result! The purple I used for stampin was China Glaze Harmony from the Romantique collection. This complete collection is great for stamping! That´s all I do with those, haha, since I think they are a little boring to wear on their own.

So here are the pictures. Nfu Oh 68 is 2 coats, but some people could probably get away with just 1. Shine isn´t as opaque as you might think, it needed 3 coats.

In real life it´s actually a little less blue and a little more purple, but it´s always difficult to catch a purple on camera. If you are a foil lover, this is really a must have! And also number 69, which is the blue version of 68.

Enjoy your weekend!!
