Chanel Peridot

Hello!

Yes, I did it too, I bought Chanel Peridot. And yes, I think it´s expensive. But in this case it was worth it. OMG, this one is awesome!!!

I don´t think it´s necessary to describe this baby, since you have been seeing this shade all over polish-blog-land in the past few weeks.

Application was smooth and easy. 2 coats I used. And I want to say that this is a gold polish that truly looks good on my skintone. Well, maybe you disagree, but that´s how I feel.

Pictures!!

I do still wonder how much of the price is just for the name Chanel... Probably about 90%.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

PS: thanks to PolishSis I found a way to react to comments again. I will try to react to comments from the last few weeks, but it might take a while. I will definitely be answering and commenting to any comments that will be left from now on! Thanks for you patience!

Help needed... Blogger-expert anyone?

Hi ladies!

I really hope someone can help me out. I haven't been able to comment on blogs including my own for weeks now. This really bothers me!! You girls do your best to to write me something, which I can not react to. That's not fair! It looks like I don't care if you respond to my blog or not, but I really do appreciate it.

Does anyone know what I can do to make this error go away?

Thanks!

Surprise! I already have 2 of the Orly Holiday Soiree

Hello ladies!

Well, 2 days ago I talked about what I was looking forward to the most. I must admit that I prepare my post about a week before they are posted. While I was looking for pictures of the Holiday Soiree collection I actually found not one, but even two dutch sites that already had this collection. OMG!!! I couldn´t believe what I was looking at. So I decided to order 2 of them. I got Oui and Androgynie.

Here´s a bottle shot.

Don´t they look awesome?!
These babies come with baby nailfiles, but my daughter pulled them of the bottles before I could blink my eyes, haha.

Of course I couldn´t wait to use these babies and I used Oui first. And she is GOR-GEOUS!
Application was great.
This is 2 coats.

What do you think? Impressed? Disappointed? I really love this one! I already loved Zoya Faye, which is a lighter version of Orly Oui, but this one is even more beautiful. You see how many different faces she has depending on the light?

Thanks for visiting and reading my blog!

What collections are you looking forward to the most?? Here are some of mine

Goodmorning ladies!

Today I decided to show you what collections I´m looking forward to the most. And of course I´m really curious what you are all looking forward to.

Here´s my list:

Orly Holiday Soiree

Orly Mineral FX

OPI new Designer Series

OPI Holiday Muppets

Color Club Backstage Pass

Color Club Beyond The Mistletoe

Essie Luxeffects

China Glaze Let It Snow

Well, that´s a whole lot of glitters :-) I´m not sure yet which ones are the lucky polishes that get a new home in my Helmer, but I´m sure it´s going to be quite a lot.

Unfortunately it seems Orly has made quite some dupes... Here´s a list of what I THINK might be dupes:

Orly Fowl Play (Birds of a Feather collection) = OPI Merry Midnight
Orly Rococo A-Go-Go (Mineral FX collection) = Zoya Valerie
Orly Igenue (Holiday Soiree collection) = Orly Rock The World (Mineral FX collection) = Zoya Faye = OPI Rally Pretty Pink
Orly Oui (Holiday Soiree collection) = OPI It´s My Year

So what´s your favorite collection that´s coming up?

Thanks for watching!

NYX Aqua Glitter over OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue

Hello!

A very nice layering combo is what I have for you today. I totally adore both polishes! Yoga-ta Get This blue was one of my first polishes. And still the most pretty dark blue shimmer I own. What I like most is that eventhough it´s dark, it never looks black.
NYX Aqua Glitter is a polish I didn´t buy with my first purchase at Beautyjoint. But now I´ve got it, I really don´t get why I hesitated. Damn, this is pretty!! It has an aqua very sheer base with a blue/green duochrome glitter. It shifts from a very bright blue (almost violet) to teal green. It´s so sparkly and gives so much extra dept to Yoga-ta Get This Blue.

I used 2 thin coats of the OPI and 1 thick coat of the NYX. Both had great application. And totally not gritty or anything. Drying time was fast too.

I was so excited to show you this from the moment I applied it, but unfortunately it was hard to capture the glitter and its duochrome and the dept.... *sigh*... But still, I really love this combo! It´s so pretty! I can´t wait to try this over a nice dark purple, that might give an awesome effect as well I think.

Hope you enjoyed my post and thanks for visiting!

Catrice Dirty Berry

Goodmorning!

Today I´m showing you a Catrice polish. Catrice is a brand that is widely available here in the Netherlands. And still I´ve only got 2 of them. No you wonder why of course. Well... let´s see... a lot of you will probably not agree with me on this one, but I don´t find their colors very special. Every once in a while I take a look in stores to see all the colors. The ones that do appeal to me, are colors that are very similar to stuff I already own.

The one I picked up recently and I´m showing you today is a color I actually bought for a friend. While buying it I decided it was actually pretty awesome. In the bottle Dirty Berry looked like a dusty lilac/purple, but on my nails it looks more like lavender. I think that has to do with skin tone. It´s probably more lilac when you have a darker skin tone.
The special surprise in this one is that the silver shimmer turns out to be a very very very subtle holo. Unfortunately it wasn´t sunny enough the day I wore this to show up in the pictures.

Application was ok. Not bad, not extremely good either. The brush is a little short, but nothing unmanagable. Opacity was good, just 2 coats needed.

Do you own a lot of Catrice? And did you just buy them because they are cheap? Or did you buy them because you adore the colors?

Thanks for watching and enjoy your day!

Sally Hansen Earthen Opal

Hi ladies!

Some time ago I saw swatches of a lot of Sally Hansen Opals. Earthen Opal looked soooo awesome so I ordered it from eBay right away. It had the most amazing duochrome. But in real life it isn´t that duochrome-y. It´s not like you see more than 1 color at the same time. Maybe I got a bad bottle. Sure, it has more than one color, but never visible at the same time. In some lights its purple, in other lights it´s a bronze-y kind of brown. It´s nice, but not as great as I expected.

For my base I used one coat of Zoya Raven. And then I used one coat of Earthen Opal. As you can see I did a crappy job with the application, but that was only because it was almost dark when I was applying this. Sorry.

Do you have any Opals? And are they more duochrome than mine? I´m really wondering if I got a dud...

Have a great day!

A new official retailer for BB Couture in Europe

Goodmorning ladies!

You know I´m not that into promoting webshops and such. But today I´m making an exception. This is not because I know the person behind this shop personally, but because she sells a lot of different polishes.

The actual reason for me to promote her now and not months ago when she started is because she became an official retailer for BB Couture. Congrats on that Mel! And how awesome is that!?! Let´s face it, we all love Kim at Overall Beauty, but it´s a lot easier and faster and cheaper to order from someone who´s actually in Europe. And for the Dutch girls even cheaper. I got Trim and Tassled, which I will show you soon.
For now she doesn´t have a huge collection yet, because she first wants to see if people are interested in BB Couture. But if there´s something you like and is not in her webshop, you can always email her.

Have at look overhere The Color Palette
Besides BB Couture she also sells China Glaze, Color Club, Essie, Konad, Milani, Nubar, Orly and Zoya. And I know she´s looking into other brands too.

She ships up to 7 polishes in an envelope for only 2,50 euro (within the Netherlands and at own risk)
For international shipping have a look here

Kleancolor Winter Wishes

Hello ladies!

For today I chose a polish which I think I´ve never seen a swatch from before. That also means that I bought this one without knowing what to expect exactly. That´s the fun part of buying cheap polish. For only $1,75 a piece at Beauty Joint you can try Kleancolor polishes. With more expensive polish I definitely need to see a few swatches before I buy it, but with these prices I´m willing to take a chance and see if it´s a cool polish.

Well, this one actually is a winner! It really is awesome! It´s a silver and very sparkly polish with multicolored glitter. At first I thought it might be a dupe for Picture Polish Sparkle, but it´s not. Sparkle is a lot less shiny and also the formula is more opaque, which make the glitter less visible. Winter Wishes is really sheer, but it needs to be for the glitter. After 3 coats I can still see through my nails when I hold them up into the light. But I´m ok with that, because it´s such a nice color.

Application was ok, although mine has kind of a wonky brush (which I don´t have with my other Kleancolors, it´s just a bit of bad luck) but I could handle it ok. I´ve read about long drying time on Kleancolor, which had not happened to me before, but with this one it actually did take hours (eventhough I used my super fast dry China Glaze Fast Forward).

Well, here´s the picture. Yes, just one. Couldn´t find more decent pics in the (at least) 20 I made, haha.

Do you ever buy polishes that look nice in the bottle although you haven´t seen swatches of it yet? I love it, although sometimes it turns out to be a bit of a disappointment. But again, this one is great!

Thanks for stopping by!

China Glaze Skyscraper

Goodmorning!

A new collection for fall from China Glaze. Since you all know I´m not a huge fan of cremes, you won´t be surprised to read that I wasn´t all that excited about this collection at first. I thought it was going to be only cremes. But lucky me, it has some very nice other polishes too.

From the moment I saw todays polish on a swatch, I was in love! What a gorgeous blue shade! It´s a blue and silver glitter. In some lights it seems to have some purple as well and because of that it reminded me a bit of Chi Chi Moondust.

Application wasn´t that easy. The polish is a bit thick. I think I will use some thinner next time. For now I just shook it after 5 nails. With 2 coats it was quite alright, but I used a third coat and that made it even more beautiful.

I really like it when polishes don´t look boring in the shade. This one almost looks like a foil in the shade as you can see in the last pic, awesome!

The wear was actually pretty good, after 3 full days I still only had very little tipwear on just 2 nails. It would probably last longer, but hey, I´ve got a huge stash, so after 3 days I wanted something else :P

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Glitter Gal Dark Green Sparkle + accent nail

Hi ladies!

For today I´ve got a Glitter Gal polish for you. I have to say that I love their colors, but honestly, they are way too expensive. You pay $15 for 9ml, which is a very small bottle. I know, there are more brands that are too expensive for the amount of polish you get, but still...

The color I´m showing you today is Dark Green Sparkle. Unfortunately it´s not the kind of green I was hoping for and expecting, but it still is really beautiful! It leans more to a dark teal than an actual dark green.

The coverage on this one is good, 2 coats for full opacity. Application wasn´t that easy, because of the small brush and small cap. Not my kind of thing. But the wear was really good! The pics were taken after 2 full days, and hardly any tip wear.

For the accent nail I used China Glaze He´s Going In Circles, this was rather sheer, I had to use 3 thick coats. And I used one of the bundlemonster plates for the leaves and stamped with China Glaze Jolly Holly, which is a green I love.

As you can see, it is not really an in your face holo unfortunately. I was really hoping for that. I still find the color pretty though.

I think this combination looks pretty! The contrasting green holos are nice. First I was thinking of using Nubar Reclaim for the accent nail, but it is a linear holo, so it didn´t really match in my opinion.
Any of you have a nice recommendation for a green holo which is like Jolly Holly colorwise??

Thanks for stopping by!

Art De Lautrec 46

Goodmorning!

Another Art de Lautrec for you today. Remember the last one I showed you? And how much I hated it. Well, this one is different! It´s a brown color with multichrome flakies, awesome! I´m definitely going to check out if Art de Lautrec has more of these flakie goodness :-)

If you are planning on buying these, please be aware that the application is horrible!! Really thin, floods into the cuticles if you aren´t carefull. Imagine how surprised I was when it did turn out to be opaque in 2 coats, I never expected that.

Unfortunately it was not the best weather when I was taking pics of this, so just pretend that it looks better than it does here :P The flakies do shift to yellow and green.

I really like this! Just like I always love flakie polishes, hahaha.

Have a great day and thanks for reading my post today!

Layering experiment with Sally Hansen Purple Pizzazz

Hello ladies!

Lately I´ve seen a lot of layering experiments on blogs and on MUA. Since I´m not that creative myself I decided to copy one I´ve seen on MUA (I´m sorry, don´t remember who it was anymore, otherwise of course I would credit her for it). It consists of 3 jelly polishes with glitter.
The original one was with Sally Hansen Purple Pizzazz, OPI Last Friday Night and Clarins 230. But I only have Purple Pizzazz out of these 3, so I decided to use NYX Turks and Caicos, which is an almost dupe for Last Friday Night, and Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuchsia, which is the closest I´ve got to the famous unicorn pee and actually has the number 230 as well.

Ok, this is what I did. I started with 2 thin coats of Purple Pizzazz. After that 1 coat of Turks and Caicos and 1 coat of Chunky Holo Fuchsia. And I finished it with another layer of Purple Pizzazz and my dear friend China Glaze Fast Forward.

Here are my pics, but you have to imagine it a lot more purple instead of blue.

Unfortunately you don't see the green in the multichrome glitter from Kleancolor, but it definitely is there. Oh man, I love the Holo Chrome collection from Kleancolor!

Drying took long! Eventhough I usually don´t have any problems with Fast Forward. It´s probably because it´s all jelly´s and because it´s 5 layers. Well, I think it looks pretty awesome! I love that jelly finish! No vnl, but you can still see through the nail when you hold them up to the light.

Thanks for stopping by!

OPI Your Royal Shine-ness + Spark The Triumphe

Goodmorning!!

Just recently I found these pictures on my phone. I was sure I had already shown you this, but after searching my blog thoroughly, I couldn't find it. But hey, I can always show it to you now.

I really love both of these, but together they are awesome!! I wore this to the Take That concert and it really is perfect for a concert.

Here is 2 coats of OPI Your Royal Shine-ness + 1 coat of OPI Spark The Triumphe.

Your Royal Shine-ness is a silver foil with a hint of gold in it and Spark The Triumphe is a silver and soft gold glitter in different shapes and sizes in a clear base.

Application on both of them was good.

Enjoy your day!

Butterfly Award

Hi ladies!

I want to start by saying sorry for the lack of reactions on all the comments. Somehow Blogger doesn´t let me react on anything, it keeps going to the login screen. So I appologize!! And especially to Olivia from Varnish Me who awarded me with the Butterfly Award. Do know that I read and appreciate all the comments that are written by all of you!!

Ok, back to the Butterfly Award. Thanks Olivia!!

Ok, this is how the Butterfly Award  works:

1. Link back to the person who awarded this award to you.
2. Answer the following questions.
3. Award to other bloggers and let them know.

What's your favourite colour? Purple!! No doubt about it!

What's your favourite song? At the moment it´s definitely Someone Like You from Adele, which is actually on the radio while I´m writing this :-) She just has the most incredible voice! A song that always make me smile and needs to be mentioned here is I´m Yours by Jason Mraz. Me and my daughter love to sing that song together.

What's your favourite dessert? This one is very difficult! I like so many things. Really can´t pick a favorite.

Who's your favourite pet? My doggie Chico. Which means little man/boy, which he actually is, hahaha. He´s a chihuahua. Here´s a pic.

Black or white? For clothes in depends on the season. For nailpolish definitely black. In general I´d say white.

What's your biggest fear? That somehow I won´t be able to see my daughter grow up.

What's your best feature? Most people say my eyes, but I don´t like blue eyes LOL, so I´d say my lips.

What's your everyday attitude? Do I even have an everyday attitude? That changes like daily. Depends on many things.

What is perfection? I guess I don´t believe in perfection.

What's your guilty pleasure? Haribo Kindermix (I´m sorry, even translated most people would have no clue what it means, lol)

I'm giving the Butterfly Award to these blogs that I enjoy:
Bregje from Oooh Shinies!
Stef from Steffels
Cristina from Let Them Have Polish
Kris from My Lucid Bubble

As I said before, I can´t react on my comments, but I can also not leave comments on other peoples blogs, so I´m not sure I´ll be able to reach everyone...

Enjoy your day!

BB Couture Adam

Hi ladies!

How are you all doing?
Today I've got a polish for you that is pretty nice. But I must admit I was expecting a little more from this. BB Couture in my opinion makes the shimmers just a little less visible than how I like it. That's the exact reason why I was a little disappointed.

This is a nice brown shade with a red shimmer. In the sun you can definitely see it's there, but only in direct sunlight. Application was good as always with BB Couture! And totally opaque with 2 coats. Very nice!

Let's take a look at the pictures.

You see, it's not spactacular. Some might say it is, but not me.

No idea why the first picture got turned around :S I tried to fix it many times, but it did not want to cooperate with me.

Thanks for watching!
