Color Club Holiday Splendor

Hello!

A few days ago I showed you Zoya Holly and I told you it was good for layering. Of course I tried that out. I used Holiday Splendor from Color Club. I think it could be opaque on its own too when you use 3 coats. But layered it´s easier to remove, so I decided to do that.

This is 1 coat of Holiday Splendor over 2 coats of Holly.
daylight, no sun

artificial light
There´s much more holo glitter in this polish than you can actually see in the pictures. I actually had a few pics where you saw all the holo, but my phone totally freaked out with those shots.

I think this is a pretty amazing polish. I would like to see it side by side with China Glaze Atlantis someday. So I hope I´ll have time to do a comparison anytime soon.

Have a nice day!

Zoya Holly

Hi ladies!

Today I´m showing you a nice green shimmer by Zoya. It was part of their last holiday collection. It´s very nice and works well as a base for glitter or something. I will show you that soon as well.

Application wasn´t as good as I´m used to with Zoya. But still managable. I used 2 coats.

Tipwear within 12 hours... hmm... not really great. I do like the color though.

What do you think of this one?

Have a wonderful day!

Ebalay A03

Hi ladies!

Today I´m reviewing a nail polish from a brand I had never heard of before. It´s called Ebalay and it´s sold at www.kkcenterhk.com

This webshops sells many nail polishes, but also lots of other products.

Ebalay has this awesome iridescent line that retails for $6,80 a bottle. Their bottles are exactly like the OPI designer series bottles, so quite big.
These iridescent polishes have a nice duochrome. And you all know how much I love duochrome.

Let´s see some pics

And here's a bottle shot.

I used 1 coat of Zoya Raven as my base, because it really needs a base coat like most duochrome polishes. And then 1 coat of Ebalay A03

So what do you think? Pretty awesome right? I really like it and I think I might order some more of these beauties. Especially since I´m sure the other ones are even more duochrome.
If you want to see the whole range of Ebalay Iridescent you can have a look here

Thanks for stopping by!

Zoya Skylar

Hello

Today I´m showing you Zoya Skylar. A grey-toned blue with silver shimmer. Nice! It´s not really opaque so I used 3 coats. But with Zoya I never mind, because the formula is always easy to work with.

Please don´t look at my bad skin, it will take a while before it´s back to normal. Seriously, I´m not made for cold weather. I should have been born in a warm country :-) Well, who knows, maybe some day I can leave Holland and move to a nice warm country.

Back to the polish, let´s take a look at it. The first 2 pics were made in sunlight and the color isn´t quite accurate. The last 2 pics were made in regular daylight and the color is a lot more accurate, but still not completely accurate. In real life it´s a tad more grey.

Do you like this shade? And what´s your favorite from the Zoya True collection?
I´m not completely sure yet, but I think my big favorite is Tru.

Have a wonderful day and hope to see you back at my next post!

Zoya Tru & Cloe + blog sale update

Hello!

Today I want to show you a combi of 2 of my new Zoya´s. Zoya is really one of my favorite brands. And now they even made flakies! Something I really didn´t expect from Zoya.

I used Zoya Tru as a base color. Tru is a grape purple with a copper shimmer, beautiful. It only needs 2 coats because of the creamy texture. Application was great as always with Zoya.

For my accent finger I used Zoya Cloe. It has a pink jelly base, but layered you can´t see that. And it has flakies that shift from orange and gold to green. It als has a few blue flakies. Great flakie!

Gorgeous combination in my opinion! Do you like it too?

A few days I mentioned my huge blog sale. But I found some more polishes that I can miss and that would love a new home. So have a look here to see if there´s anything you like.

Have a great day! And thanks for watching!

My favorite flakie ever!

Hi everyone!

Today another post with my alltime favorite flakie polish. And it´s cheap too!

First: why is this such an awesome flakie? Well, easy. It has the same color shift as most other famous flakies like Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and Gosh Rainbow, but on top of that it also has blue flakies, which make it special. It´s Golden Rose Scale Effect 02. I´m going to order a backup real soon, my first ever back up polish.

This time I used it over a dark blue with sparse holographic glitter: Zoya Indigo. Since the holographic glitter is so sparse, you can´t see it anymore after you applied the flakies. But that´s ok.

I used 1 coat of Zoya Indigo and 1 coat of Scale Effect 02.

Awesome, right?!

Zoya Caitlin + CND Amethyst Sparkle

Hi there!

Todays polish I was about to swap. Why? Well, I didn´t really love the color and it is a creme, which I´m also not fond about. But I decided it needed a second chance before it would leave my house.

Zoya Caitlin is a blue based grey and applies very well, plus it is opaque in 2 coats. I used 2 coats of CND Amethyst Sparkle to get out of its boring zone. And that really helped! Amethyst Sparkle is a very nice pink sparkle. Not my favorite CND, but still.
I really like CND effects and I should really use them more often. The only downside is that I always have trouble catching CND effects on camera. So that´s why I only have 1 picture for you today. I hope you don´t mind.

And still I´m not sure if I should keep Caitlin. I like her, but only as a base color for layering. I would never wear this on its own.

Thanks for watching!!

Ozotic 532 the duo/holo in green/teal/blue/purple

Hello ladies!

Today another one of these awesome Ozotic holo/duochromes. I think this might be the prettiest, but I haven´t used 534 yet, so I don´t think I can decide just yet.

Trust me, if you love duochromes and holos, you definitely need one of these polishes.

The one I´m showing you today is the teal, green, blue, purple version. Gorgeous! The main color seems to be teal and it flashes all the other colors when you change the position of your hands.

Well, you´re here for the pictures, right? So here we go.

All of these are taken indoors in lamp light (that´s why they seem a little dark). I tried to capture multiple colors in one picture, but that wasn´t easy. The first one shows best I guess.

I used 1 coat of Zoya Raven and 2 coats of Ozotic 532. Maybe I can try this one on its own too someday, but duochromes are usually a bit sheer and I didn´t want to waste this gorgeous (and expensive) polish. Application was fine.

What´s your opinion about these holo-duochromes? Any favorites?

Thanks for watching!

Zoya Yara

Hello everyone!

Today I´ve got Zoya Yara for you. This and Neeka are the only I got from the Zoya fall collection. I love those strange colors with gold glitter!

Yara is an olive green with gold glitter. Pretty! Application was smooth as always with Zoya polishes. I used 2 coats and it dried quite fast.

Great color, don´t you agree? And quite unique I think.

Sorry for the tipwear. It seems I only show you crappy manicures lately. It´s just that I have a lot of things on my mind and I´m really busy. Maybe I should be blogging in between all this, but I just love doing it. So I promise as soon as I have a bit more time, I will show you better manicures again.

Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday shopping, BIG TIME!

Hi ladies!

I´ve been home now for a few days and what an amazing holiday it was! I loved Miami, I loved the Bahamas and I loved the cruise ship. And of course I did "some" shopping. I´ve read about all these stores in the US that lots of you ladies visit frequently. For me it was awesome! Walking right into Ulta while up till then I had only read about it. And Walgreens, Forever21, CVS, Ross, Icing, Del Sol and more. Just seeing all these great brands that I love displayed right in front of me. Some stores I haven´t found unfortunately (like Sally´s, Target, Walmart, Rite Aid) but I did some big time hauling. I tried only picking the ones that I had on my wishlist but I failed miserably. Bought a total of 31 polishes and 2 of the newest Konad plates, ooooppsss!

So here we go, this is what I got.

Butter London No More Waity Kaitie + remover

Color Club Back To Boho set (yes, the cheap 8 dollar sets are really sold at Ross)
Boho Mojo, Nouveau Vintage, Voodoo You Do, Artsy Crafty, Blue-topia, Rebel Spirit

Icing: Chrome Navy Blue, Irish Gold, Epic Winning, Vampire Blood, Witches Brew, Starlight

Orly Fowl Play, Orly Nite Owl, Orly Out Of This World, Zoya Neeka, Zoya Yara, OPI It´s My Year, OPI ds Top Coat

Sinful Colors Let Me Go, Wet ´n Wild Back Alley Deals, Wet ´n Wild Teal Of Fortune, Piggy Polish The Right To Bare Feet, Milani Blue Lightening

Nicole Me + Blue, Sally Hansen Icequeen, L`oreal Owl´s Night, Confetti Ice Ice Baby, Love & Beauty Shimmering Grey

M84 and M85

Besides all these brands I´ve seen many more and mostly at places I didn´t expect them.

The Piggy Polish is unlabled, so I´m not sure it´s the right name... I actually found another one that looks a lot like it.

So what do you think ladies? Ready to see swatches? I´ve already used No More Waity Kaitie while I was on holiday. And OMG, the worst application ever!! Did I get a bad bottle or did you guys experience it too? I can´t even describe all the problems I had. I really hope some thinner would do the trick. I haven´t even made pictures of it.
I also used Blue Lightening, which I think is pretty close to OPI ds Magic. Will make a comparison some day. I did take pictures of this, so you´ll see that one soon.

Thanks for visiting!

Comparison time! Green shimmer/glitters

Hello!

Today I´m doing some comparisons with my green shimmer/glitter polishes that seem similar.

Recently I bought the SpaRitual Love Your Planet Duo and also some of the Tony Moly glitters, including the green one, GT04. Looking at them when they arrived I was thinking how they do seem similar to other greens I have. Oops, I did it again? Well, let´s find out.

The first comparison exists of SpaRitual Earth Matters, Zoya Ivanka, NYX Emerald Forest and Tony Moly GT04.
Let´s take a look at the pics first.

Index = SpaRitual Earth Matters 2 coats
Middle = NYX Emerald Forest 3 coats
Ring = Zoya Ivanka 3 coats
Pinkie = Tony Moly GT04 2 coats

Well, as you can see, my new polishes aren´t as close to the older ones as I thought. But the NYX and the Zoya are definitely very close. I would say they are dupes, but the NYX has a very little bit more gold (which of course my camera wouldn´t pick up)
The SpaRitual and Tony Moly have clear bases and only lots of glitter. Earth Matters has small green and gold glitter and needs at least 2 coats of topcoat to make it nice and smooth instead of dull, gritty and not sparkly at all. Tony Moly GT04 has small green and gold glitter and larger green glitter.

I love all 4 of these!

My next comparison is with the other half of the Love Your Planet duo, Greenhouse. I compared it to Zoya Apple. And honestly, their base colors are exactly the same. Different is that Greenhouse has gold shimmer where Apple has gold glitter.

Here they are, 3 coats each, index and ring is Greenhouse and middle and pinkie is Apple.

In this case I definitely prefer Apple. I just love sparkly colors, can´t help it.

So what are your favorites from the ones shown here?

Zoya Charla vs NYX Sea Of Cortez

Hi ladies!

Remember I showed you NYX Sea Of Cortez? It has been a while, I know, but I remember promising you a comparison with Charla, since they seemed quite close. Well, they are close. The main difference is that Charla is a little more blue than Sea Of Cortez. Also, the NYX is a bit less opaque which gives the gold glitter more chance to shine through and that gives the polish more depth. Trust me, a non-polish-lover wouldn´t see the difference. And I have to say that in my pictures it isn´t that visible either. They are definitely similar enough to make it to my dupe list though.

I used 3 coats on both of them. Definitely prefer the Zoya brush. But the NYX isn´t that difficult to handle.

index and ring = Zoya Charla
middle and pinkie = NYX Sea Of Cortez

You can see the difference between these 2 best in the first 2 pictures. I recommend to enlarge them to see it a bit better.

In my opinion Sea Of Cortez is a little more beautiful. And it´s a very nice cheap alternative for all the other expensive Charla dupes (except for the Essence Choose Me of course, nothing can beat Essence prices).

Which of all the Charla dupes do you prefer?

Comparison: purple polishes with gold shimmer

Hi ladies!

I love doing comparisons! I dislike having dupes though...
Today a comparison with quite a few purple polishes I found in my stash that have a gold shimmer in them. Well, before we start, let me say I´m really happy there are no dupes here. Pfew!

This is what I used:
Index --> Zoya Zara 3 coats
Middle --> NYX Golden Lavender 3 coats
Ring --> Pure Ice Purple Reign 2 coats
Pinkie --> Sephora by OPI Hell To The No 2 coats

As you can see is the NYX more pink than purple, eventhough it really looked purple in the bottle and at swatches I've seen of it. I love how visible the shimmer is in Zara. Somehow I keep forgetting how beautiful she is. And in my memory Hell To The No was much more sparkly. I still really like it though.
Luckily none of the colors look a like.

I've got another 2 purples with gold shimmer: Sally Hansen Arabian Night, which is more bluetoned and Milani Dot Com which is more eggplant, so those 2 didn't fit in this comparison, although they are purples with gold shimmer.

Which of these is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by!

Zoya Edyta

Hi there!!

Let me start by apologizing for not giving you nice and sunny pics. But there just wasn't any sun when I used this beautiful polish.

Zoya Edyta is some sort of army green color with gold shimmer. WOW! I never expected I would like it this much. Although I must admit that I have been loving almost all the colors with gold shimmer Zoya put on the market in the past year.

Application on Zoya is always great and the drying time wasn't too bad either.

Enjoy your day!!

Zoya Apple vs. Zoya Ivanka

Hi ladies!

Of course I know and can see from the bottle that Apple and Ivanka are not dupes. But I just wanted to show you how different they actually are. And of course if you don´t want to buy both of them this might make it easier to decide which one suits you best.

As I told before Apple is really sheer, so for this comparison I even used 4 coats. For Ivanka I used 3.

Just let the pictures do the talking.

In real life there is much more gold sparkle in them but most cameras freak out when they see glitter, haha.

Index and ring = Apple
Middle and pinkie = Ivanka

Which of these 2 is your favorite? I can´t decide and love having both of them :-)

Have a great day!
