A little comparison

For a while I have been curious how close Accessorize Purple Dream and LA Girl Groupie are. Both of them are in my top 5 of favorite purples, they are gorgeous!!

I´ve only got one picture, but I think it´s a good one. Both 2 coats. Application is very good too on each of them.

On the left is Groupie and on the right is Purple Dream. I still think they are both beautiful, but I like Purple Dream just a little more.

What is your all time favorite purple?? And from the 2 in the picture?

Accessorize day 8: Purple Dream

Goodmorning ladies!

Enjoying your weekend so far? Yesterday was a very long day. But I enjoyed it. My daughter did well! She ended in 2th place, wow! Unfortunately this time it wasn´t individually, but with a team of 3 girls and the team was 5th, so no medal, but a good start of the season. I´m so proud of her!!

Today is the last day of the Accessorize week. Oh man, what a bunch of great polishes! The one I have for you is no exception. Beautiful! I don't have anything like it in my stash, so no comparison today. If I had to describe it I would say it´s a combination of LA Girl Groupie and LA Girl Punk. It's awesome!

This might even be my favorite of the Accessorizes together with Aztec.

You see the duochrome? And the blue and pink glitter? This really is great!

So, that's all. The Accessorize week has ended here. I would love to know your opinion on which one you like the most.

Accessorize day 7: Bronze

Goodmorning!

Today I've got another polish from Accessorize for you which I thought I would have a dupe for. But no, luckily I don't. Of course I did do a comparrison to show you it is close to others I own.

This is Accessorize Bronze, 2 coats. Flawless apllication like with all the other Accessorizes I've tried so far.

Nice pink, orange, yellow, bronze duochrome.

And here's the comparison

Index = Ozotic 502 3 coats
Middle and pinkie = Accessorize Bronze 2 coats
Ring = Nubar Wild Life 2 coats

Ok, as said, no dupes. I do think there is a dupe for this one out there. Probably Nubar Iris Dust or Nubar Star Dust. But I'm not sure, because I don't have those.
The colors of Ozotic 502 are sort of the same, but a lot brighter. The Ozotic is quite sheer though.

Which of these 3 do you like the most? Or don't you like all of them?

Accessorize day 6: Ruby Sparkle

Hi ladies!


It´s friday again, that means weekend is almost there. And for me that means as soon as the clock hits 13:30h I will be free for 5,5 days!! Yay, a short break! Tomorrow I will spend my whole day in a gym, since it´s the first competition of the rhytmic gymnastics season. Looking forward to it! I´m really excited about how my daughter will do. A year and a half ago I got my licence to be in the jury. (somehow these last few sentences don´t really look like good english language, excuse me, but I think you all understand what I mean).


On to what you all came here for. Nail polish! Today is day number 6. I´ve got Accessorize Ruby Sparkle to show you today. The base looked like it was clear at first, but it´s dark purple. And it has lots of glitter in it that reminded me of the color of Nubar Petunia Sparkle. I sold that color to someone else, so I did the comparison with Nubar Violet Sparkle.

Here it is, 3 coats in the picture. And of course rainy daylight, since I swatched all of them on the same morning.

It actually kind of looks like foil glitter or something. I like it!

Index and ring = Nubar Violet Sparkle
Middle and pinkie = Accessorize Ruby Sparkle
Both 3 coats and topcoat.

I know, I know, they are not even close. As I said, I think the color is like Petunia Sparkle, but they won´t be dupes either since the glitter is totally different. That´s why I did this comparison, to show you the difference in glitter.

I think with topcoat Ruby Sparkle is quite stunning. It´s not a kind of purple I would usually wear, but because of the foily kind of glitter I like it a lot!

Do you like this as well? Or are you more a fan of the Nubar sparkles?

Accessorize day 5: Electric Blue

Hello!

On day 4 I´m bringing you another one with a lot of dupes, and I own all of them. Oops! I seriously have to make choices here. But this is sooo beautiful! I love this shade! It´s a rich vivid blue shade with a slight purple duochrome.

Here´s Electric Blue in 2 coats on its own. And of course it was still raining when I swatched this.

When I did a comparison with OPI ds Magic, Sally Hansen Laser and Orly Lunar Eclipse a few months ago I couldn´t find the purple duochrome. Somehow I did see it this time, but I had a hard time capturing it on camera. Sorry. I really tried.

So here´s the comparison

Index = OPI ds Magic 3 coats
Middle = Accessorize Electric Blue 2 coats
Ring = Orly Lunar Eclipse 3 coats
Pinkie = Sally Hansen Laser 4 coats

They are so close! But in real life you can see slight differences. DS Magic and Lunar Eclipse are definitely dupes. The other two are twin sisters. Electric Blue is slightly darker and Laser slightly lighter. Application wise again Accessorize wins. And the Sally Hansen was the worst, but is probably the best one for layering.

So are you a fan of this great blue as well? I adore it!

Only 3 more to go. Hope you´re not getting tired of it yet.

Accessorize day 4: Aztec

Goodmorning!

Another day, another Accessorize polish.

I just wish this would be available a lot easier. They ship to quite a lot of countries, but not to the Netherlands. What´s up with that? I mean, we are practically neighbours of the UK. Ok, there´s a sea in between, but that´s all. They do ship to countries like Germany, USA and Bulgaria, so why not the Netherlands? Well, of course I emailed this question to the customer service of Accessorize and the answer I got was that it is due to a number of business reasons... Ok, so I still don´t have a clear answer.

Luckily I found Alison on MUA to help me out.

Today I´ve got one for you which I thought was a dead on dupe for Orly Space Cadet, one of my all time favorites. But although they are close, they are not dupes.

Here are the pictures of Aztec on its own. This is 2 coats. And of course in rainy daylight.

And of course I did the comparison with Space Cadet.

Index and ring = Accessorize Aztec 2 coats
Middle and pinkie = Orly Space Cadet 2 coats

In real life the difference is more visible. The purple and green in Aztec are darker. And Space Cadet has some bronze in it which is not really in Aztec.

In this case Space Cadet is a winner for me, but I love Aztec as well, and Aztec has better application.

Do you like these kind of colors? Or aren´t you a fan of sparkly duochromes?

Accessorize day 3: Mermaid

Hello!

This is already day 3. Are you enjoying it so far? These polishes are just so awesome!

But the one I´ve got today is not really unique. `Not really` is kind of an understatement. This is number 5, why why why? I mean it´s nice to have 2 options to choose from, but come on, 5? That´s too much.

Here´s my swatch. 2 coats of Mermaid. Again in rainy daylight.

Well, you probably already guessed what this one is a dupe for: OPI Catch Me In Your Net, Orly Halley´s Comet, Essence Choose Me, and now Accessorize Mermaid as well...

Just to show you I´m not joking:

Index and ring = Accessorize Mermaid
Middle and pinkie = Zoya Charla
Both 2 coats.

As you can see they are dead on dupes. Although I do like the application of the Accessorize better. Since I try to have no dupes in my stash, I don´t own all the other ones. And I will have to make a choice which one I´m putting up for a swap.

This is an awesome color, although I don´t really like it with my skintone. Somehow I can´t get used to it. What´s up with that?

Accessorize day 2: Purple Passion

Hi ladies!

How are you all doing? Are you ready for the next Accessorize polish?

This is 2 coats of Purple Passion. It really is purple, but impossible to get that on camera. You know how it is with purple, sometimes it just is impossible to get a good true color picture. This is a very dark shade of purple with nice sparkle.

sorry for the glitter on my finger, I swatched a very glittery polish before this.

From the bottle it looked like it could be close to Zoya Mimi, so I made a comparison.

Index and ring = 2 coats of Accessorize Purple Passion
Middle and pinkie = 3 coats of Zoya Mimi

As you can see they do have the same kind of finish, but they are definitely not dupes. I do think Zoya Julieanne might be very close. Or maybe Orly Out of This World, which I also don´t have.

I do like the shade, although it´s probably a lot prettier in the sun.

Accessorize day 1: Pink Spice

Goodmorning ladies!

Last thursday the Accessorize polishes arrived. Yay!! They are just so pretty! I swatched them all last friday morning and after that I decided to do a whole week (well, actually 8 days, since I have 8 polishes) of Accessorize polishes. For most of them I have comparisons as well. But today I´m starting with one I don´t have a dupe or lookalike of.
I have to say that application on all 8 was very good!! The polishes are not too thin or too thick, they are just perfect. Nice brush as well. Yes, I´m very satisfied! The only downside is the size of the bottles, they are quite small. Not that I have the illusion I will ever finish a bottle of nail polish though :P

This one is said to be a dupe for MAC Bad Fairy. Unfortunately I don´t have that one.

So here are the pictures. This is 3 coats in rainy daylight. I was planning to wait for a sunny day, but lately that seems impossible.

Well ladies, what do you think? Is it a dupe for Bad Fairy? Compared to the swatches I´ve seen I think they are pretty close.
You see the pretty duochrome of pink and orange? 2 colors I would never use normally, but I like this one very much.

China Glaze Sugar Plums with some extras

Hi ladies!

Today I got another polish for you from the China Glaze Holiday collection. It´s a very nice shade between wine red and purple. In the bottle you can see some holo glitter, but it doesn´t really show up. It´s very pretty anyway.

So here it is, 1 coat of China Glaze Sugar Plums

The first pic was taken in artificial light, second in daylight, third as well, but more in the shade.

What do you think? Nice shade or what? I definitely like it. I was actually doubting about this color, being afraid it would be too red, but it´s absolutely pretty.

Since the bottle promisses some holo glitter I decided to give that effect myself. I used 1 coat of Nubar Holographic Glitter, my favorite holographic glitter in my stash.

First one was taken in artificial light to show you the holo goodness. And the second in daylight to show you it looks like a coat of sugar when there´s no sun involved.

And, and, and, YAY!! Look what arrived yesterday afternoon. Thanks Alison!!

I´m going to try to swatch them today, but I have to work as well. And I´m hoping for sunshine to get the best pictures. Maybe I´ll put them up on sunday or maybe I´ll make a total Accessorize Illusion week next week, with comparisons and all. I haven´t decided yet.

Accessorize Illusion nail polish: they are coming!!

Hi you all!

It was about a week and a half ago that Lacquerized blogged about the pretty polishes from the Accessorize Illusion line. I just couldn't believe my eyes! These are awesome, great, gorgeous, beautiful. Well, that's what they look like in the bottle. So of course I started hunting them. But very soon I found out the webshop doesn't ship to the Netherlands and the Accessorize stores overhere don't sell them. But I needed to get them, no matter what. So the hunting continued. I emailed a few ladies on MUA and I was lucky to find someone that wanted to order them for me. Thank you so much Alison!

She's now waiting for the last one to arrive and then she will ship them to me. Hopefully I will get them next week and I promiss to swatch them as soon as I can.

But for now I wanted to give you a little preview of the pretties I asked for.

Top row from left to right: Aztec, Bronze, Electric Blue, Mermaid
Bottom row from left to right: Pink Spice, Purple Dream, Purple Passion, Ruby Sparkle

Some of them might be dupes for other polishes that have been released recently. Electric Blue seems a dupe for Orly Lunar Eclipse, OPI ds Magic and Sally Hansen Laser. Mermaid looks kind of like OPI Catch Me In Your Net, Orly Halleys Comet, Zoya Charla and Essence Choose Me. And Pink Spice looks like MAC Bad Fairy. But for now I can only guess since I don't have them yet.
