China Glaze Tinsel Town

Hi ladies!

I´m kind of in hurry while I write this, so a short post today.

What I´ve got to show to you today is China Glaze Tinsel Town. Charcoal base with silver glitter in different sizes and shapes. Perfect for NYE! That´s when I wore it :D

I used 2 coats and the application was good.

Sorry for my bad pictures. I thought I made lots of them, but I only made 5 and these were the best 2...

I really like it! Awesome holiday shade.

Thanks for stopping by! And don´t forget my giveaway

Zoya Caitlin + CND Amethyst Sparkle

Hi there!

Todays polish I was about to swap. Why? Well, I didn´t really love the color and it is a creme, which I´m also not fond about. But I decided it needed a second chance before it would leave my house.

Zoya Caitlin is a blue based grey and applies very well, plus it is opaque in 2 coats. I used 2 coats of CND Amethyst Sparkle to get out of its boring zone. And that really helped! Amethyst Sparkle is a very nice pink sparkle. Not my favorite CND, but still.
I really like CND effects and I should really use them more often. The only downside is that I always have trouble catching CND effects on camera. So that´s why I only have 1 picture for you today. I hope you don´t mind.

And still I´m not sure if I should keep Caitlin. I like her, but only as a base color for layering. I would never wear this on its own.

Thanks for watching!!

Color Club Voodoo You Do

Hello!

Just a few more Back To Boho´s to go :P Hang in there!
For today I chose Voodoo You Do. A difficult color to the describe. Blue/green/grey-ish metallic, or something? Application was good and I used 2 coats. I´m not really loving this color. Don´t know why, but it´s just not that special or something. Oh well, they can not all be winners, right? I do like the name though.

Here are my pics.

Do you like this one? And how would you describe this color?

Thanks for visiting me today!

Let's Do It In 3D with perfect underwear

Hi ladies!

I wasn't ready yet to remove Teeez Sexy (in other words: I was lazy), so I decided to put something on top of it. And I have to say: perfect! Teeez Sexy turns out to be the perfect underwear for China Glaze Let's Do It In 3D.

Let's Do It In 3D might be my favorite China Glaze. I just love it. Very holo and a great color!
I used 1 coat on top of 2 coats of Sexy.

Thanks for watching!!

Teeez Sexy

Goodmorning!

Today I've got another Teeez for you. In the bottle I thought it was taupe with silver microglitter. But once applied it's grey leaning slightly towards taupe (which the camera didn't want to capture...)

The microglitter is only visible in direct light, so you might call it a hidden shimmer. In some angles it looks sort of lilac too. Nice!

Application wasn't great. It really needed a shake after 5 nails, because it's quite thick. Maybe some thinner will do the trick. Try that next time. It is quite opaque though, 2 coats are perfect.

Unfortunately I can't show any sun pics, since there just wasn't any.

Enjoy the pics! Thanks for stopping by!

BB Couture Widow Maker

Hi ladies!

Today I´m showing you the polish that was missing in my order from overallbeauty.com. Kim imediately sent this too and so I´m able to show it to you now. Widow Maker is a soft grey with a golden shimmer. While applying, the golden shimmer was very visible and I was really like WOW! But when it dried and I put topcoat on, the shimmer was almost gone. No idea if it was the topcoat or that´s just what this polish does when it dries, but that was a bit of a disappointment.

Here are the pictures of 2 coats of BB Couture Widow Maker.

The first is artificial light, second in daylight.

Of course I couldn´t stand it that the golden shimmer was gone, but of course there´s an easy solution for that: CND Gold Sparkle.

And here is the result.

Yes, that´s a bit better, but I´m still not sure about this color...

What do you think of it?

Thanks for watching!

Bloom Zooey

Hello!

Today I´m showing you something else after 3 days of BB Couture. I still have 2 more to go. One is still on the way and the other one I will show soon. But today I´ve got Bloom Zooey for you. Australian polishes rock! This one I got as sort of an extra in a swap and I really like it. I think it´s very close to the silver glitter Milani recently released.

Zooey is a darker silver in I guess some sort of a grey base. Since there is so many glitter in it, I can´t even see the base color. I do know it´s not straight up silver, it´s more between charcoal and silver, but it is very shiny and actually covered in one coat. But to be sure I used an extra coat. It was dark when I applied it and didn´t want to see any surprises the next morning. Bloom is a very nice brand, smooth and all.

Here are the pictures

Why do I have lobster hands in the first picture?
Second picture I did a blurry shot to show how glittery it is.
Do you like it? I think it´s pretty awesome!

Well, that it´s for today. Thanks for watching!

BB Couture Opposites Attract

Hi ladies!

Here´s another one of the polishes I ordered at Overallbeauty during the sale. Looking at swatches I decided I needed this pretty one, since it´s a grey with silver microglitter. And micro it is. Invisible would be the right discription actually... I was so excited about this one in the bottle. And application was great! One coat, yay! And smooth. But where is the glitter?

Well, in the pictures you can see some if you do your best. But in real life I couldn´t see it. Looks like a plain grey creme. Which would have been ok if I did not have a grey creme yet, but of course I do... So, yes, I was dissapointed.

Here are the pics of BB Couture Opposites Attract where you do see a little of the microglitter.

The first picture is most color accurate.

Is it me? Did I do something wrong that I did not get the glitter to show up?

Thanks for stopping by!

Lippmann Wicked Game

Hi guys!

My very first time showing you a Lippmann, yay!! I finally got my hands on some of them thanks to a very nice MUA lady. She got me the Layer Cake set. It consists of 3 mini Lippmann polishes and Wicked Game was one of them. I´m also waiting for the All That Jazz Trio which another MUA lady sent me but hasn´t arrived yet. That one does have the big bottles which I really like.
But for people who would like to try Lippmann first before they buy their expensive bottles, the Layer Cake set is perfect! Three very different shades.

Ok, so today I´m showing you Wicked Game. It is quite sheer. I used 3 coats, but maybe a 4th would have been better. It reminded me of Koh Glamourous Purple, but with a lot better application. Remember when I showed you that? It was horrible. Although I still have the idea it was me to blame, since I know many ladies that love Koh and their application.

Wicked Game is lavender/lilac purple with a green and silver/grey duochrome. Very nice and not too edgy for work.

It is some sort of frost, that´s why it´s a bit streaky, but really hardly visible. I like this shade! But hey, how could I not like it, since I´m a duochrome lover.

Just a few days ago I found out there is a dupe for this pretty, it´s Wet ´n Wild Gray´s Anatomy. I see a lot of bank accounts smiling now. For the price of a full size Lippmann you can buy 8 bottles of the Wet ´n Wild. Unfortunately Wet ´n Wild is not available overhere, but for the US ladies this is good news.

Have a great day!

OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees + Sinful All About You

Goodmorning!!

Here in the Netherlands we celebrate christmas in 2 days, so today is our second christmas day. And since I had to work yesterday, I´m celebrating today. This afternoon my daughter and I will go to my mom and together with my stepdad, my youngest sister and her boyfriend we will celebrate with gifts and a nice dinner.

The polish I´m showing you today is the one I showed you last thursday plus some nice glitter. In my opinion grey and gold go very well together.

Here´s Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees + 1 coat Sinful All About You

And here it is with 2 coats of All About You

I think it turned out pretty great. And christmas-y :-)

Have a great day and thanks for watching!

OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees suede

Hello ladies!
Why such a long name for this polish? Sometimes I wonder if OPI takes more time to invent the names for the polishes than actually think of great colors. Just look at the upcoming Texas collection, only one word comes to mind: boring! Nothing special, nothing unique. Don´t get me wrong, I have like 35 OPI polishes or something, I really do like them, but I really do think they make too many cremes, reds and pinks.

Anyway, I used this one because I was tired and didn't want to take a lot of time to do my nails. Suedes are the perfect sollution for that! One coat needed and dries like crazy.

SSITP suede is a dark grey or charcoal version of the suede line. I'm not a huge fan of suede finishes, it looks a bit weird, but maybe I just still need to get used to it, but for now it's topped off with a layer of top coat.

Here´s 1 coat with topcoat. First one in daylight, second in artificial light.

I´m not really sure if I like it like this. Maybe I should put something on top of it. Flakies or glitters, hm, I´ll think of something nice. What do you think of this one?

Thanks for stopping by!

Orly Pixie Dust

Hello!

How are you all doing? My weekend started today and since my daugther is free from school this week it really feels like weekend.

I´d like to show you a polish I´ve used before but had not shown to you yet. It´s a light grey color leaning a bit to pale blue. And it has a tiny silver shimmer. Another advantage is that I can wear it to work. It´s not an amazing color, but I like it very much.

So here are the pictures of Orly Pixie Dust. It is sheer, so I used 3 coats for full opacity.
Please don´t mind the cuticles, I forgot to moisture before taking pictures and after I got home from work it was already too dark to shoot new pictures.

Do you like grey polish? I think they are suitable for just about anything.

Thanks for stopping by and till tomorrow!

Matte/Suede grey comparison

Hello!

I recently did a comparison which I haven´t showed you yet. Personally I think comparisons are very handy when you´re doubting about a nail polish. The one I´m showing you today is about 2 suede grey polishes. And I have to say I like them both!

Suede finishes are definitely not my favorite. I wouldn´t wear it without topcoat. But with topcoat, they are awesome! And they dry very quick. So they are perfect for when you´re in a rush.

Before I forget, I´m talking about Nubar Twilight Matte and OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees Suede.
Both needed 2 coats. No problems with application at all for the both of them.

Picture time!

Index and ring = OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees
Middle and pinkie = Nubar Twilight Matte

The last picture is with topcoat.

As you can see they are not dupes. Not that I expected them to be LOL but hey, it´s a comparison, so I´m supposed to mention that. The Nubar is more a silver color and the OPI is a charcoal.

As I said, I think they are both great! What do you think? Which one do you like most? I actually think I will wear this as a full mani, they combine very nicely.

Have a great weekend!! I´m hoping for a lot of sun, so I can make some better pictures of the polish I´m wearing right now.

Take care,
Miranda

Zoya Kotori versus OPI Midnight Blue Glitter

Hi ladies!

Today I´ve got a comparison for you. Zoya Kotori and OPI Midnight Blue Glitter looked quite similar in their bottles. Same dark grey base with blue glitter, although the glitter in Kotori is much a brighter blue. When I applied them, it was quite obvious they are not so close at all. The first layer was kind of the same, but after that, the differences showed up with each coat. Midnight Blue Glitter has much less glitter and a silver shimmer, while Kotori is packed with glitter.

They are both quite sheer. Next time I would probably layer them, but not over black, since I think the dark grey base is pretty awesome, so would use a grey as a base.

In the pictures I used 4(!!) coats of Midnight Blue Glitter and 3 coats of Kotori.
Index and middle are Midnight Blue Glitter. Ring and pinkie are Kotori.

I like the OPI better, it´s just gorgeous! Much better than I thought when I put it on my wheel. I wish it would be easier to photograph this, but unfortunately it didn´t show up as great as it is.

Take care,
Miranda

Let's do it 3 dimensional

Hi everybody!

Today I've got a polish for you from China Glaze. I'm not a fan of China Glaze, although I am a big fan of their colors. Application is just not the way I like it, but I can't really explain what the problem is. But the color is what matters most, so I do own quite a few China Glazes. And I think this is my favorite color from ChG. It's Let's do it in 3D from the kaleidoscope collection. It's a dark grey/charcoal holographic polish.

This is 3 coats with base and top coat of course. Some people say you shouldn't use topcoat on holo polishes, but I just don't like it without. You get scratches way to quick.

Somehow it didn't end up in the pictures the way I wanted it to.

I love holo and this is pretty unique. Much lighter than for instance Color Club revvvolution and darker than ChG sexagon.

It's saturday, yeey, weekend for a lot of you! Enjoy it!

Thanks for stopping by!

It has been a grey day...

Hi guys!

As promissed, here's my NOTD post. Since yesterday was such a grey day with all the rain and everything, I decided to try on Models Own Grey Day. Just one layer for full coverage!! How great is that! Always love it when that happens, since I am kind of lazy when it comes to painting my nails. The quicker the better. Grey Day is a medium grey that dries quickly.
On to the pics.

So yesterday I found a picture on the internet where someone used OPI Catch me in your Net as a stamping polish. I don't own that one, but do have her twin sister: Zoya Charla. So I decided to give it a try. And I really like it! I used bundle monster plate BM20.

Since daylight totally let me down by the time I finished this, the last pics were taken in artificial light.

Well, that's all for today, we're going to Duinrell today. Hope the weather will be better than yesterday.

Thanks for watching!
