Girly Bits Star Spangled

Hello!!

So today I have another Girly Bits polish. This is one of the Indy brands. I have to say I´m not all that impressed about 99% of all Indy polishes. They aren´t all that unique, they all copy each other. Mostly glitter topcoats with huge glitter in all sorts of shapes, not my thing. And last but not least, most of them are overpriced. I understand that producing just a few makes it more expensive, but still. That said, I do like some of them. Especially the 3 Girly Bits that I have :D. Today I´ve got Star Spangled for you. Very pretty!

Star Spangled is a sheer blue with blue, red and silver glitter. I love it!

For my pictures I used 3 coats. Next time I will use it over a dark blue base coat, just to save the polish.

I apologize for the poor clean up. When I put it on it was already starting to get dark and I wanted to catch the last daylight, so I decided to do the clean up later.

So what do you think? Like it, love it or hate it? I love it!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Nicole by OPI One Big Happy Fame-ily

Hello!

I`ve got a new Nicole by OPI shade. It`s lilac with a silver shimmer. I know I hardly ever show you soft or light colors. I`m just not really into that. But when I saw a swatch of this one I knew I had to have it.

The color is much less blue than my pictures show, but you can imagine how beautiful it is.

At the first coat I thought it would never be opaque. And let me tell you, if you need a nice lilac sheer shimmer, just use 1 coat of One Big Happy Fame-ily. But with 3 coats it was opaque and beautiful.

Perfect for spring!

Thanks for watching and enjoy your day!

Zoya Skylar

Hello

Today I´m showing you Zoya Skylar. A grey-toned blue with silver shimmer. Nice! It´s not really opaque so I used 3 coats. But with Zoya I never mind, because the formula is always easy to work with.

Please don´t look at my bad skin, it will take a while before it´s back to normal. Seriously, I´m not made for cold weather. I should have been born in a warm country :-) Well, who knows, maybe some day I can leave Holland and move to a nice warm country.

Back to the polish, let´s take a look at it. The first 2 pics were made in sunlight and the color isn´t quite accurate. The last 2 pics were made in regular daylight and the color is a lot more accurate, but still not completely accurate. In real life it´s a tad more grey.

Do you like this shade? And what´s your favorite from the Zoya True collection?
I´m not completely sure yet, but I think my big favorite is Tru.

Have a wonderful day and hope to see you back at my next post!

China Glaze Tinsel Town

Hi ladies!

I´m kind of in hurry while I write this, so a short post today.

What I´ve got to show to you today is China Glaze Tinsel Town. Charcoal base with silver glitter in different sizes and shapes. Perfect for NYE! That´s when I wore it :D

I used 2 coats and the application was good.

Sorry for my bad pictures. I thought I made lots of them, but I only made 5 and these were the best 2...

I really like it! Awesome holiday shade.

Thanks for stopping by! And don´t forget my giveaway

China Glaze Millennium + Party Hearty

Hi ladies!

Today my Christmas mani. A little late, but why not, right? I think this mani can also be worn on New Years Eve.

I´ve never had as many compliments on any mani as I got on this one. Wow!

And it was an easy one as well. 1 coat of China Glaze Millennium and 1 coat of China Glaze Party Hearty. Of course I did use topcoat, but I didn´t use basecoat. I never use basecoat on lighter colors, they don´t stain.
Application was good on both. My pictures on the other hand... not as sparkly as the mani actually was. And my hands look horrible, old lady like.

China Glaze Lorelei´s Tiara

Hello ladies!

Don´t you just love all the collections that came out recently? I really had to take it easy and not order every one of them. But when my sister ordered from Beautyjoint recently, I couldn´t recist and had to have Lorelei´s Tiara from China Glaze. It´s so awesome!

It´s a silver glitter with blue hex glitter. Nice combo! I was still wearing Icing Navy Chrome and since I wasn´t sure how opaque this would be, I decided to layer Lorelei´s Tiara over it. I think this wasn´t necessary at all. In my pictures I only used 1 coat of Lorelei´s Tiara over Navy Chrome. So it would probably opaque in 2 coats when used alone.

Application was fine. The polish was a bit thick though, but that´s normal for a glitter. It dried fast.

So here we go, pretty Lorelei´s Tiara

First 3 pictures were taken in the shade, so you could see the blue glitter better. The last one is in direct light, so you can see how bling bling it is.

What do you think? Beautiful polish, right? I really love it!

Thanks for visiting!

Orly Cashmere Cardigan + Color Club Jingle Jangle

Hi ladies!

I did this mani a while ago and I totally forgot about it. Why? I mean, it really is an awesome combo!

The base is Orly Cashmere Cardigan. One of the few cremes that I actually love. I used 1 coat and that was enough, except in sunlight... So if I´ll ever use this combo again I should definitely use 2 coats.
On top I used 1 coat of Color Club Jingle Jangle, which is a lilac, blue, teal and silver glitter. Very nice!

You see, there are some bold spots in direct sunlight unfortunately. Well, I do still love the combo. What do you think?

Enjoy your day!

Finger Paints Artist Sapphire + Sally Hansen Ice Queen

Hi there!

When I saw Sally Hansen Ice Queen it looked really interesting in the bottle. Silver glitter + blue hex glitter. Well, I actually underestimated it. It´s quite an awesome layering polish. Besides the silver glitter and blue hex glitter there´s also some holo glitter (not a lot, just a bit) and pink hex glitter.
Now I only needed something to layer it over. So I went through my spreadsheet and saw Finger Paints Artist Sapphire was still untried. I must admit that I wasn´t sure it was untried or I just forgot to mark it as tried. Oh well, who cares :P It´s a nice dark blue.

Application of Artist Sapphire is really nice because of the small brush. And I only needed 1 coat. It did take a little longer than average to dry, but that´s ok.
Ice Queen has a really nice formula for a glitter! I used 2 coats of that. And it´s not gritty like many other glitter polishes.

Pictures!

What do you think of this combo?

I was a bit afraid it would look like China Glaze Lorelei´s Tiara which I have on the way, but after using it I´m quite sure it isn´t. What I´ve seen from Lorelei´s Tiara is that it is a glitter which fully covers the nail, while Ice Queen is definitely only for layering.

Icing Epic Winning

Hello!

One of the polishes I was actually searching for in the US was Epic Winning by Icing. Each time I saw a Claire´s I went inside. But non of them sold Icing. I really thought they were like sisters. And I´m still sure of that, but it took like 5 Claire´s before I finally found an Icing store.

Epic Winning is a blue, silver and holo glitter in a clear base. It was difficult to get it opaque. I used 4 coats, although 3 gave almost the effect. Next time I will definitely layer. Drying time and application was good though.
Shade

I love it! It´s really pretty! And I´m so happy I found it. I got lots of compliments on this polish too. I don't think I ever got more compliments than on this polish.

What do you think?? Like it?

Thanks for watching!

Orly Nite Owl

Hello!

Today I´ve got for you a polish I consider a perfect nude. It´s a very soft beige with a silver shimmer. So lovely! I have been looking for a color like this for ages. Don´t get me wrong, I love all my hysterical polishes. But sometimes you just can´t wear heavy glitter, vampy purple or bright blue. And in these cases Orly Nite Owl is great!

I used 2 coats, although I thought it really needed 3 coats after I applied the first one. But 2 was enough. Application was good, drying time too.

Since I had a huge smudge on my index finger, I´m only showing you three fingers :D

It´s just very pretty. And work appropriate. Actually, appropriate for just about every situation.

What´s you favorite appropriate-for-anything polish?

Nubar Knights Armor with Ozotic 530

Hi ladies!

Today I´ve got a duochrome glitter bomb for you. This is pretty awesome I can tell you. Most duochromes and duochrome glitters are layered over black. Since I still hadn´t used my Ozotic 530 I decided that I wanted to wear that and went through my black polishes to see which one I was going to use. That´s when I saw my Nubar Knights Armor and I thought why not?! I mean, it has a black base right. Ok, it has very much silver glitter in it, but I figured it might look cool.

Nubar always has great application and Knights Armor is no exception. I used 2 coats of the black jelly with silver glitter. Then I topped it of with 2 coats of Ozotic 530 from the Elytra collection. It´s the yellow, orange and pink duochrome glitter.

Let´s take a look at the pictures.

In real life you actually see a lot more yellow. You mostly see the orange and pink in the pictures. I´m sorry my first 3 pics are a bit dark, but they are taken in shade because you can see the glitter and duochrome better that way.

So what do you think? Was this layering a good idea or a bit too much? I love it!

Thanks for watching!

Funky Fingers Sand and Stilletos swatch

Hi ladies

Today I´ve got a simple and quick swatch for you. I used Sand & Stilletos from Funky Fingers and used a different amount of layers on each nail to show you that you can use it on its own as well as a layer polish.

It has a clear base with lots of silver and holo glitter. The holo glitter is just soooo holo! You can even see it when there´s no sun. So if you like a party on your nails and can´t wait for the sun to finally shine, this is your friend!

Index = 1 coat
Middle = 2 coats
Ring = 3 coats
Pinkie = 4 coats

As you can see 1 coat is enough for layering. And 3 coats is enough for full coverage.

There was no sun when I swatched this, so imagine how sparkly and holo this would be in full sun, amazing!

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Kleancolor Winter Wishes

Hello ladies!

For today I chose a polish which I think I´ve never seen a swatch from before. That also means that I bought this one without knowing what to expect exactly. That´s the fun part of buying cheap polish. For only $1,75 a piece at Beauty Joint you can try Kleancolor polishes. With more expensive polish I definitely need to see a few swatches before I buy it, but with these prices I´m willing to take a chance and see if it´s a cool polish.

Well, this one actually is a winner! It really is awesome! It´s a silver and very sparkly polish with multicolored glitter. At first I thought it might be a dupe for Picture Polish Sparkle, but it´s not. Sparkle is a lot less shiny and also the formula is more opaque, which make the glitter less visible. Winter Wishes is really sheer, but it needs to be for the glitter. After 3 coats I can still see through my nails when I hold them up into the light. But I´m ok with that, because it´s such a nice color.

Application was ok, although mine has kind of a wonky brush (which I don´t have with my other Kleancolors, it´s just a bit of bad luck) but I could handle it ok. I´ve read about long drying time on Kleancolor, which had not happened to me before, but with this one it actually did take hours (eventhough I used my super fast dry China Glaze Fast Forward).

Well, here´s the picture. Yes, just one. Couldn´t find more decent pics in the (at least) 20 I made, haha.

Do you ever buy polishes that look nice in the bottle although you haven´t seen swatches of it yet? I love it, although sometimes it turns out to be a bit of a disappointment. But again, this one is great!

Thanks for stopping by!

China Glaze Skyscraper

Goodmorning!

A new collection for fall from China Glaze. Since you all know I´m not a huge fan of cremes, you won´t be surprised to read that I wasn´t all that excited about this collection at first. I thought it was going to be only cremes. But lucky me, it has some very nice other polishes too.

From the moment I saw todays polish on a swatch, I was in love! What a gorgeous blue shade! It´s a blue and silver glitter. In some lights it seems to have some purple as well and because of that it reminded me a bit of Chi Chi Moondust.

Application wasn´t that easy. The polish is a bit thick. I think I will use some thinner next time. For now I just shook it after 5 nails. With 2 coats it was quite alright, but I used a third coat and that made it even more beautiful.

I really like it when polishes don´t look boring in the shade. This one almost looks like a foil in the shade as you can see in the last pic, awesome!

The wear was actually pretty good, after 3 full days I still only had very little tipwear on just 2 nails. It would probably last longer, but hey, I´ve got a huge stash, so after 3 days I wanted something else :P

Thanks for visiting my blog!

OPI Your Royal Shine-ness + Spark The Triumphe

Goodmorning!!

Just recently I found these pictures on my phone. I was sure I had already shown you this, but after searching my blog thoroughly, I couldn't find it. But hey, I can always show it to you now.

I really love both of these, but together they are awesome!! I wore this to the Take That concert and it really is perfect for a concert.

Here is 2 coats of OPI Your Royal Shine-ness + 1 coat of OPI Spark The Triumphe.

Your Royal Shine-ness is a silver foil with a hint of gold in it and Spark The Triumphe is a silver and soft gold glitter in different shapes and sizes in a clear base.

Application on both of them was good.

Enjoy your day!

My new OPI's!!

Hi ladies!

I'm very happy with my new OPI polishes from the Grand Slam collection. So I decided to write a small piece about them.

These pretties were bought on eBay. Always a great way to find nice polishes. And if you search well enough, you don't always have to pay full price. I love a good bargain!

So of course I had to have Grape...Set...Match, since I am a total purple addict as you all know. It's gorgeous!! The second one I got is Your Royal Shine-ness. A silver foil with a hint of gold, which makes it different from your usual silver foil. I love a good foil! And the third one is Spark The Triomphe. It's a silver and soft gold glitter in different sizes. Had not seen anything like this before, a great glitter!!
Swatches will follow soon, I promise.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the pictures!

Color Club Magic Attraction

Hello!!
Today I'm showing you one of my favorite glitter bombs. It is sooo sparkly with all the light silver and holo glitter. But it's difficult to catch.on camera, that's why I included a blurry picture in this post too.
I used 3 coats, not completely opaque, but not necessary with this color. You could also use this as a layering polish.
Thanks for reading my post today!

OPI Holiday Glow

Goodmorning!
Ok, ok, ok, I know, it's not even close to holiday season. But hey, I was in the mood for brown. And Holiday Glow is a gorgeous chocolate brown with silver glitter. Why wait until december?

Although I really really really like this color, application was bad! Especiallt opacity. Well, in the end it turnef out great, but after the first coat I was sure I wasn't going to finish this manicure and would take it all off again. But I'm happy I did not do that, it turned out to be exactly what I wanted :-)

Have I great and thanks for stopping by!
