Models Own Indian Ocean

Hi ladies!

A few days ago I showed you Nicole One Big Happy Fame-ily. Since my new Models Own Beetlejuices came in when I was wearing them and I had read all over the place that Indian Ocean was really sheer, I decided to layer it on top of One Big Happy Fame-ily. And it turned out to be a good combo. Although I´m really curious how it would look on a darker color too.

I used 2 coats of Indian Ocean and this is the result.

In real life the colors are much more vibrant, but you just have to trust me on that one.

I do have to admit that the new Beetlejuices are a bit of a disappointment unfortunately. I really hoped they would be awesome opaque duochromes. Layered Indian Ocean looks pretty. And Copper Pot looks pretty amazing in the bottle. But I´m pretty sure Tropical Sun is not a keeper.

Models Own Aqua Violet

Hello!

Today another one from the Models Own Beetlejuice collection. Before I start talking about Aqua Violet, I firt want to let you know that you can order the new Beetlejuices from monday the 19th at www.modelsownit.com . I´m really going to order these, they look so awesome.

Well, on to Aqua Violet. Amazing when I looked at the promo pics. Kind of boring in the bottle. But gorgeous on the nail!! You should really get this if you like duochromes like I do.

I used 3 coats, application wasn´t a problem. It shifts from teal, to ocean blue, to purple. Nice right?!

The color shifts are a lot stronger than you can see here in the pictures. It´s always hard to photograph a duochrome.

NEW Beetlejuice collection for spring/summer 2012

Yes, that´s right, Models Own is doing another Beetlejuice collection. Woohoooo!!! Yes!!

Ok, I must admit, the Beetlejuice collection from last autumn looked better in the promo pics than in real life, but still I´m really excited. I do really like my Beetlejuices, so I think I will like the new ones too.

Definitely good shades for a long hot summer (which is what I need soooo bad, the long hot summer that is). And a lot better names than the autumn Beetlejuice collection!

So what do you think of this? Must haves? And what seems to be your favorite? I think I´m most interested in Copper Pot.

Models Own Purple Blue

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU! Hope this year all your dreams come true!

To celebrate the new year with you I´m showing you the polish that made me want the entire Models Own Beetlejuice collection, haha. This is so awesome! It´s duochrome and foil like Orly Space Cadet, but with other colors. I wouldn´t say this is better than Space Cadet, but definitely (almost) as beautiful.

The name on the other hand.... Come on! You think of a cool name for the entire collection, but why these very simple names for the polishes Models Own? Oh well, it is purple and it is blue. But it´s also teal and magenta. And actually red when I see them next to my laptop screen. That would be a long name: Models Own Purple Blue Teal Magenta Red, lol.

Anyway, it was not at all sheer as I expected it to be. It went on smooth and was good to go in 2 coats.

I think this is my favorite from the Beetlejuice collection, although I haven´t tried all of them yet. But it´s just pretty!

Models Own Golden Green

Hi ladies!

Today the first one of the Beetlejuice collection by Models Own. Ever since I saw the promo pics, I knew I had to have them all! I must admit that now I have them, I´m not sure I really love all of them, but we´ll see. Maybe when I try them, I like them better than in the bottle.

I decided to start with one of the polishes I had doubts about. And guess what, I really like it! It shifts from golden green to apple green. Nice! Not extremely duochrome, but that´s ok.


Application wise... well, I wasn´t all that satisfied. But maybe it just didn´t like my topcoat. I used my regular China Glaze Fast Forward, but maybe I should try my OPI ds Topcoat next time. Because I really got bubbles and all, which I normally don´t get. Or maybe I should use the Models Own topcoat that was in the set. Any of you tried that one? Is it any good?

Anyway, I was really doubting if I should show you this because of all the bubbles and all, but the color is still really nice. And besides that, you probably see enough perfect manis everywhere on the web. It wouldn´t heart to show that sometimes manis fail miserably.

Models Own Beetlejuice collection

Hello everyone!

This morning at 11 o´clock (well, that was the time here) it finally came online: The Beetlejuice collection by Models Own. From the moment I saw this collection I knew I had to have it. So this morning I logged in on modelsownit.com and waited. I was just so afraid that the site would crash, or even worse, it would be sold out by the time I would have a look at the website. Yes, I know, I´m a little crazy. Was doing other things while I was waiting, but kept looking at the clock, haha.

This is the Beetlejuice collection:

I already received a shipping confirmation, but guess what, it can take up to 4 weeks to arrive. Come on! Even when the bottles would swim themselves, they would be here faster. I guess I have to be patient. But still, UK to Netherlands really isn´t that far.

Did you order this today too? Aren´t you just excited? I know I am! Will show swatches as soon as they arrive.

Models Own Mixed Up

Hi ladies!

Do you know that search for the perfect black polish with holo or holo glitter?? I´ve had many of those but non of them lived up to my expectations. But finally, I got it!! Most of the blacks with holo or holo glitter I had were just plain black in most lights. That´s not what I wanted. But Models Own Mixed Up does have a great holo glitter that you can also see in low light.

Since it is quite sheer I started with 1 coat of Nubar Noir, my favorite black one coat creme. I applied 2 coats of Mixed Up on top of Noir. It is a bit bumpy, so 2 coats of TC

It´s always difficult to catch holo glitter on camera, so I decided to show you some blurry pics as well.

Here we go

Pretty awesome huh?? It´s not only holo glitter, but also silver glitter. I really like it!!

Pastel Skittles

Last week I did my first skittle manicure. In spring we saw a lot of these manicures in pastel colors, but since the sun was shining I was in the mood for something happy, colorful and just like spring, so I made pastel skittles in autumn, haha.

I actually bought the Peach Sherbet only to do a skittle mani, there´s no way I could ever wear a color like this on its own, and still in the skittle I don´t really like, haha. Actually, I don´t think I´m a pastel girl at all! Although I do like the colors, but they are just not me or something.

Well, it did turn out lovely! Very sweet! But probably more a combination that I will use on my daughter. But it was definitely nice to have some spring in autumn.

Models Own Mystic Mauve

Hello!

When this polish arrived, I found out it was broken. So I put it in another jar so I could still use it. I love the shade and I love the finish (it´s a foil) but it is streaky and you can see every flaw. Somehow that didn´t really show in the pictures. What is that with my camera? Can´t seem to capture awesome shades, but somehow it doesn´t really show flaws either...

Well, of course you can´t see how awesome this color is... It´s a light lilac foil and it looks very sparkly in the sun.

Do you like foils? And do you have tips for preventing it being streaky?

It has been a grey day...

Hi guys!

As promissed, here's my NOTD post. Since yesterday was such a grey day with all the rain and everything, I decided to try on Models Own Grey Day. Just one layer for full coverage!! How great is that! Always love it when that happens, since I am kind of lazy when it comes to painting my nails. The quicker the better. Grey Day is a medium grey that dries quickly.
On to the pics.

So yesterday I found a picture on the internet where someone used OPI Catch me in your Net as a stamping polish. I don't own that one, but do have her twin sister: Zoya Charla. So I decided to give it a try. And I really like it! I used bundle monster plate BM20.

Since daylight totally let me down by the time I finished this, the last pics were taken in artificial light.

Well, that's all for today, we're going to Duinrell today. Hope the weather will be better than yesterday.

Peacocks

Good morning!

Today I have a nailpolish from Models Own for you. I don´t own a lot of this brand, but I do like them. Especially the Lemon Meringue. It´s the only yellow polish I own and I absolutely love it! I will show you that one some other day.
The one I´m going to show you now is Peacock Green. A very nice teal blue/green something kind of color. It gives full coverage in 2 coats and dries quick.

And here are the pics.

Since the name of this shade is Peacock Green I thought it would we nice to put some peacocks on top of it. I used a bundle monster plate for that and China Glaze Millennium

No idea why this ended up upside down...

As you can see not my best work in konad... but from a distance no one will notice, haha.

I also like to show you the newest colors from Models Own. So here they are.

I think the Orange Sherbet will be one I need to have since I love the Lemon Meringue so much as well.
