OPI ds Glamour vs Glitter Gal Marine Blue

Hi dear readers!

Today a comparison of 2 very beautiful polishes. I know many girls buy Glitter Gal Marine Blue because it´s very difficult finding OPI ds Glamour. I´m very lucky to own both.

Glamour in my opinion is more of a jeans blue, while Marine Blue is a lot brighter. They are both very pretty, but for me, nothing can beat Glamour.

index and ring = 2 coats of Glitter Gal Marine Blue
middle and pinkie = 2 coats of OPI ds Glamour

As you can see Glamour is more holo than Marine Blue. Another win for Glamour.

Which one do you prefer?

I still think the Glitter Gal polishes way overpriced. But then again, they do make great holos in a huge variety of shades.

Enjoy your day and thanks for watching!

Comparison time! Green shimmer/glitters

Hello!

Today I´m doing some comparisons with my green shimmer/glitter polishes that seem similar.

Recently I bought the SpaRitual Love Your Planet Duo and also some of the Tony Moly glitters, including the green one, GT04. Looking at them when they arrived I was thinking how they do seem similar to other greens I have. Oops, I did it again? Well, let´s find out.

The first comparison exists of SpaRitual Earth Matters, Zoya Ivanka, NYX Emerald Forest and Tony Moly GT04.
Let´s take a look at the pics first.

Index = SpaRitual Earth Matters 2 coats
Middle = NYX Emerald Forest 3 coats
Ring = Zoya Ivanka 3 coats
Pinkie = Tony Moly GT04 2 coats

Well, as you can see, my new polishes aren´t as close to the older ones as I thought. But the NYX and the Zoya are definitely very close. I would say they are dupes, but the NYX has a very little bit more gold (which of course my camera wouldn´t pick up)
The SpaRitual and Tony Moly have clear bases and only lots of glitter. Earth Matters has small green and gold glitter and needs at least 2 coats of topcoat to make it nice and smooth instead of dull, gritty and not sparkly at all. Tony Moly GT04 has small green and gold glitter and larger green glitter.

I love all 4 of these!

My next comparison is with the other half of the Love Your Planet duo, Greenhouse. I compared it to Zoya Apple. And honestly, their base colors are exactly the same. Different is that Greenhouse has gold shimmer where Apple has gold glitter.

Here they are, 3 coats each, index and ring is Greenhouse and middle and pinkie is Apple.

In this case I definitely prefer Apple. I just love sparkly colors, can´t help it.

So what are your favorites from the ones shown here?

Thanks for stopping by!

Zoya Charla vs NYX Sea Of Cortez

Hi ladies!

Remember I showed you NYX Sea Of Cortez? It has been a while, I know, but I remember promising you a comparison with Charla, since they seemed quite close. Well, they are close. The main difference is that Charla is a little more blue than Sea Of Cortez. Also, the NYX is a bit less opaque which gives the gold glitter more chance to shine through and that gives the polish more depth. Trust me, a non-polish-lover wouldn´t see the difference. And I have to say that in my pictures it isn´t that visible either. They are definitely similar enough to make it to my dupe list though.

I used 3 coats on both of them. Definitely prefer the Zoya brush. But the NYX isn´t that difficult to handle.

index and ring = Zoya Charla
middle and pinkie = NYX Sea Of Cortez

You can see the difference between these 2 best in the first 2 pictures. I recommend to enlarge them to see it a bit better.

In my opinion Sea Of Cortez is a little more beautiful. And it´s a very nice cheap alternative for all the other expensive Charla dupes (except for the Essence Choose Me of course, nothing can beat Essence prices).

Which of all the Charla dupes do you prefer?

Comparison: purple polishes with gold shimmer

Hi ladies!

I love doing comparisons! I dislike having dupes though...
Today a comparison with quite a few purple polishes I found in my stash that have a gold shimmer in them. Well, before we start, let me say I´m really happy there are no dupes here. Pfew!

This is what I used:
Index --> Zoya Zara 3 coats
Middle --> NYX Golden Lavender 3 coats
Ring --> Pure Ice Purple Reign 2 coats
Pinkie --> Sephora by OPI Hell To The No 2 coats

As you can see is the NYX more pink than purple, eventhough it really looked purple in the bottle and at swatches I've seen of it. I love how visible the shimmer is in Zara. Somehow I keep forgetting how beautiful she is. And in my memory Hell To The No was much more sparkly. I still really like it though.
Luckily none of the colors look a like.

I've got another 2 purples with gold shimmer: Sally Hansen Arabian Night, which is more bluetoned and Milani Dot Com which is more eggplant, so those 2 didn't fit in this comparison, although they are purples with gold shimmer.

Which of these is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by!

Green glitter comparison by Kleancolor

Goodmorning!

I decided to do a comparison between the 2 green glitters I have from Kleancolor. Well, they turned out to be very different.

On my pinkie and middel finger you see Holiday Jingle and on my index and ring finger you see Leaves Jingle.

At first I thought I didn't need both, but then I saw swatches from Kaz from pretty-random and Holiday Jingle looked awesome. I'm really curious how she got the polish to look like that, because mine is definitely more of a topcoat. I think they probably changed the formula. Can you believe I used 3 coats in the picture? It's very difficult to catch the glitters on the brush, you mostly get the clear base.

Leaves Jingle on the other hand is exactly what I expected. I really like it! A green jelly with green glitter. And opaque in 2 coats. I think I could have taken better pics of Leaves Jingle though, but I will as soon as I wear it as a NOTD.

Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day!

Comparison Gosh Blue Monday and LA Girl Punk

Hi ladies!

From the bottles the 2 colors I´m comparing today actually looked a lot alike. Well, the only thing that is the same is the finish and also that they are both blue.

LA Girl Punk is much darker than Gosh Blue Monday. I have to say I prefer Punk. Punk also has a slight purple duochrome which I couldn't capture unfortunately. Blue Monday in my opinion is better used as a layering polish, since it wasn't opaque in 3 coats and I'm not sure if it would with 4. Punk could have gotten away with just 2 coats, but I used 3.

Well, here are the pictures.

Index and ring = Gosh Blue Monday
Middle and pinkie = LA Girl Punk

Thanks for watching!

China Glaze Grape Crush vs Precision Twilight

Goodmorning!

Happy Queensday for all my dutch readers! Unfortunately I have to work all day.

And since you´ll be seeing a lot of orange today on dutch nail blogs, I decided to do something else (also because I just don´t own any orange polish, because I really dislike it)

Yes, it´s time for another comparison. I showed you Grape Crush a few days ago. And I´ve also showed you Precision Twilight a while ago. I got Twilight from Cat and she said it was really close to Grape Crush. So of course I was really happy with it!! And now I own both, so I can make a comparison.

They are both purple and both have holographic microglitter. I used 3 coats of each of them and application was just fine on both.

Index + ring = Twilight
Middle + pinkie = Grape Crush

As you can see they are not dupes, but they are really close. Grape Crush is a little more blue toned. But for the girls who can´t get their hands on Grape Crush I think Twilight would be a nice substitute. Just google it, I think it´s not difficult to find an online store that sells them.

Enjoy your day!

Zoya Apple vs. Zoya Ivanka

Hi ladies!

Of course I know and can see from the bottle that Apple and Ivanka are not dupes. But I just wanted to show you how different they actually are. And of course if you don´t want to buy both of them this might make it easier to decide which one suits you best.

As I told before Apple is really sheer, so for this comparison I even used 4 coats. For Ivanka I used 3.

Just let the pictures do the talking.

In real life there is much more gold sparkle in them but most cameras freak out when they see glitter, haha.

Index and ring = Apple
Middle and pinkie = Ivanka

Which of these 2 is your favorite? I can´t decide and love having both of them :-)

Have a great day!

Teeez week day 3: Cool + GIVEAWAY WINNER!

Hello!

I know this has been shown here before, but I think it is pretty enough to be shown here more than once. But I've included a little comparison too, so I hope you'll enjoy it.

Teeez Cool is a light blue holo (turquoise) and it is gorgeous! The advantage of the holos from Teeez compared to most other brands is that they also look nice without direct light hitting it. Not that you can see the holo in low light, but the base colors are really nice and bright. Most holos from other brands look dull without sun hitting them, well, at least in my opinion.

First up is 2 coats of Cool, good application.

Pretty!!!

And here we have a little comparison.

left to right: OPI ds Sapphire (which has a slight pink flash to it), China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out, Teeez Cool, China Glaze 2NITE

I actually think the Teeez is my favorite of these 4. What's yours?

AND NOW ON TO THE MOMENT YOU`VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR,
THE WINNER OF THE GIVEAWAY IS:

Kelly Gonzo

I have contacted her already. Congratulations Kelly!

A little comparison

Goodmorning!

For a while I have been curious how close Accessorize Purple Dream and LA Girl Groupie are. Both of them are in my top 5 of favorite purples, they are gorgeous!!

I´ve only got one picture, but I think it´s a good one. Both 2 coats. Application is very good too on each of them.

On the left is Groupie and on the right is Purple Dream. I still think they are both beautiful, but I like Purple Dream just a little more.

What is your all time favorite purple?? And from the 2 in the picture?

Enjoy your weekend!

Comparison between 2 old OPI´s

Hi there!

Today I've got kind of an unusual comparison for you. The 2 of them don't look alike at all in the bottles. But since I swatched them on a nailwheel next to eachother and both over black, they did look quite a lot the same. So that's why I did the comparison.

First a bottle shot

And now on to the comparison.
Index = 3 coats Sugarplum Yum
Middle = 3 coats Merryberry Mauve
Ring = 1 coat Zoya Raven + 1 coat Sugarplum Yum
Pinkie = 1 coat Zoya Raven + 1 coat Merryberry Mauve

As you can see they really do look a lot alike layered over black. Ok, they are really different on their own, of course that was to be expected looking at the bottles.
Merryberry Mauve is some sort of a dusty rose pink and Sugarplum yum is a soft lavender blue with a very strong pink flash/duochrome.
Both are very sheer, that's probably why I layered them on the wheel in the first place. Even after 3 layers you can still see through your nail, although you won't see the vnl.

Thanks for watching!

Comparison flakies over Nubar Raspberry Truffle

Hi ladies!

The day before yesterday I showed you Nubar Raspberry Truffle and I told you I wanted to layer something over it. I couldn´t decide what to do, but I did know I wanted to compare different flakies over a dark color someday, so why not now?! So I pulled out my orange/yellow/red flakies to see what happens when you put them over Raspberry Truffle.

First the pictures.

Once again: excuse my horrible skin and cuticles, I wish there would be a solution for it
I used 1 coat of all flakies.

Index = Nfu Oh 49, flakies in a very sheer pink base
Middle = Nfu Oh 51, flakies in a sheer purple base
Ring = Barielle Elle´s Spell, flakies in a sheer red base
Pinkie = Gosh Rainbow, flakies in a clear base

As you can see the flakies in Nfu Oh 51 aren´t as visible as the others. Nfu Oh 49 and Gosh Rainbow don´t show any difference on the nail. And what´s also obvious is that the base color hardly shows at all. The flakies of Nfu Oh 51 and Barielle Elle´s Spell don´t shift color as much as the other two.

All together I can say Gosh Rainbow is an absolute musthave for layering. It is discontinued, but it has 3 dupes: Nubar 2010, Nfu Oh 38 and Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Ozotic 513 and a comparison

Hello!

What is it with the Australian polishes? Why are they all so awesome? Yes, today I´m showing you another Australian pretty. By now everyone knows the gorgeous multichromes by Ozotic, but I want to show you one of their holo polishes. And they are great at holos too!! I definitely want more of them, but have to sort out what numbers they have for the holos exactly.

This is 2 coats of Ozotic 513, smooth and easy to work with.

I can´t wait to see this gorgeous purple holo in the sun! My guess is that it is even more awesome.

Because I have quite a lot op purple holos I thought it would be nice to show you a comparison with a few of them. I was actually surprised how different they are.

Here they are

Index = Ozotic 513
Middle = China Glaze LOL
Ring = Color Club Wild At Heart
Pink = Ozotic 624
All 2 coats.

You can see how different they are. The Ozotic 624 is not really a holo, but a holo glitter in a purple base, maybe I should compare it to Nina Pro Purple Xing. The colors are quite different too.
Ozotic 513 is my favorite of these 4, since it has the most holo. What´s your favorite?

Enjoy your weekend!

Milani Dot Com + a comparison

Hi ladies!

How are you all doing?

The first time I saw this polish at www.linnieke.com I was blown away. Unlike any other purple! Love at first sight, hahaha.

Application of Milani Dot Com is ok. Not perfect, but good to handle. It´s a very nice purple with lots of gold glitter. This does make the purple lean a bit towards brown.

This is 2 coats

Nice!!

But when I was looking at my nail wheels I saw a color that actually looked quite similar, so I decided to do a comparison. The other color used for this comparison is Sally Hansen Arabian Night.

Index and ring = Milani Dot Com 2 coats
Middle and pinkie = SH Arabian Night 2 coats

As I said reviewing SH Arabian Night a while back, it really is more of a blurple than a purple. The glitter is kind of similar in color, shape and quantity. But the differences are very obvious when you look at the pictures.
I don´t have a favorite, love both colors! Which one is your favorite from these two?

Thanks for stopping by!
