A-England Ascalon

Hello ladies!

A-England makes some of the best holos out there. They aren´t as much in your face as the Layla holos for instance, but in the sun they really are gorgeous. The one I´m showing you today is Ascalon. It´s a charcoal holo with a pink flash in some angles.

What I also like about A-England is that they ship free worldwide. Which means I don´t always have to order large amounts of polish just to justify the shipping. Love that! Wish more companies would do that.

Application was very smooth. I used 2 coats.

If you enlarge the last pic you can actually see some of the pink flash. It´s pretty!

Excuse the tipwear. Can you believe I almost forgot to take pictures of this one? These were taken after 3 days of wear...

What´s your favorite A-England polish? I think my favorite is St George, but I do love all of them.

Have a wonderful day!

China Glaze Tinsel Town

Hi ladies!

I´m kind of in hurry while I write this, so a short post today.

What I´ve got to show to you today is China Glaze Tinsel Town. Charcoal base with silver glitter in different sizes and shapes. Perfect for NYE! That´s when I wore it :D

I used 2 coats and the application was good.

Sorry for my bad pictures. I thought I made lots of them, but I only made 5 and these were the best 2...

I really like it! Awesome holiday shade.

Thanks for stopping by! And don´t forget my giveaway

Cosmetic Arts Equinox Fox

Goodmorning!

I don't have a lot to say about toadays polish. Except that it is a dupe for (non dud) Color Club Revvvolution. It's pretty! Although this might be a little more prismatic instead of linear. Should make a side by side comparison.

2 coats in the picture, no troubles with the application at all.

Thanks for visiting my blog and enjoy the pictures!

One more thing: today is my daughters 10th birthday. Happy Birthday dear Romy Noa!

Golden Rose 119

Goodmorning!

Today I polish that actually surprised me. It was much more holo than I expected. But I was hoping for a black holo and that's not what I got unfortunately. Well, I really like charcoal holos as well, so the search for a good black holo will keep going on.

Application was just fine. 2 coats were enough for opacity. Downside is the brush, which is small and has a squared lid. But other than that no trouble.

Do you own any Golden Rose holos? Which are your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by!

H&M My Favorite Jeans

Hi ladies!

Today I've got something for you that I wanted for quite a long time. And after I finally got it, I left it untried for about 6 months. How's that possible? Well, no idea, probably too many pretties to choose from.

My Favorite Jeans is like a blue/charcoal foil. Very pretty! I used 2 coats for complete opacity. Application was good.

Enjoy the pics and thanks for stopping by!!

Teeez week day 7: Gutsy

Hi ladies!

This is the last day of Teeez week, I hope you´ve all enjoyed it. I certainly did! I think it´s nice to show you a great dutch brand for a change. And the formula and application were very good! Hope they will bring out more great colors in the future.

The last one I´ve got for you is Gutsy. Difficult to describe! It´s a foily like polish with charcoal and copper and silver. Sounds awesome right?! Well, it is :-)

2 coats in the pics. Also good application.

It´s actually a bit lighter than the pictures show. A very cool color! Do you like it? I think you should enlarge the first picture after the bottle pic, that shows how awesome it is.

Have a nice weekend!

Holo konadicure

Hello ladies!

Yesterday I showed you a pretty awesome silver holo. Since I really didn't want to take it of just yet and it was still sunny (huray, 2 days of sun in a row!) I decided to do a holo konad thing. So on top of Ozotic 618 (a silver holo) I used Color Club Revvvolution and stamped an image from huge plate A21. These A series imageplates are really big. Not only the size of the imageplate but also the size of the images. This means that even if you have long nails, you don't have to double stamp.

Here's the result.

And because of all the holo you can hardly see the image, haha, so I made a picture for you without direct light.

I think it´s about time I file my nails down again, they are really getting too long, I like them better a bit shorter

OPI Midnight Blue Glitter

Hi dear readers!

This morning I actually have time to do some swatching. Yay! The only problem is that I want to swatch stuff that hasn´t arrived yet... Yesterday the mail man came to my door with 2 packages. Yes, 2! And I´m really excited about these 2 packages. But I wasn´t home at the time. Bummer!! Since I will be working tomorrow, I have to wait until tuesday for the new polishes. Oh well, you will see them soon. Will swatch some other stuff that´s still untried then.

A while ago I did a comparison with OPI Midnight Blue Glitter and Zoya Kotori, but a realized I never wore them on their own. From swatching I remembered Midnight Blue Glitter was very sheer so I used a charcoal base. China Glaze Awaken seemed a good choice, fast drying and charcoal and opaque in 1 coat. After Awaken I applied 2 coats of Midnight Blue Glitter. MBG is a blue and silver microglitter in a charcoal jelly base. But I have to say that it looks prettier in the bottle than on the nail. Maybe this is a color that really needs some sunshine. You hardly see the glitter at all, although it is a bit better in daylight. This time it really isn´t the camera that couldn´t capture it, my eyes also couldn´t capture it... I just wish the blue and silver glitter would be a little more visible, that could make this one a true beauty.

Pictures!

OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees + Sinful All About You

Goodmorning!!

Here in the Netherlands we celebrate christmas in 2 days, so today is our second christmas day. And since I had to work yesterday, I´m celebrating today. This afternoon my daughter and I will go to my mom and together with my stepdad, my youngest sister and her boyfriend we will celebrate with gifts and a nice dinner.

The polish I´m showing you today is the one I showed you last thursday plus some nice glitter. In my opinion grey and gold go very well together.

Here´s Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees + 1 coat Sinful All About You

And here it is with 2 coats of All About You

I think it turned out pretty great. And christmas-y :-)

Have a great day and thanks for watching!

OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees suede

Hello ladies!
Why such a long name for this polish? Sometimes I wonder if OPI takes more time to invent the names for the polishes than actually think of great colors. Just look at the upcoming Texas collection, only one word comes to mind: boring! Nothing special, nothing unique. Don´t get me wrong, I have like 35 OPI polishes or something, I really do like them, but I really do think they make too many cremes, reds and pinks.

Anyway, I used this one because I was tired and didn't want to take a lot of time to do my nails. Suedes are the perfect sollution for that! One coat needed and dries like crazy.

SSITP suede is a dark grey or charcoal version of the suede line. I'm not a huge fan of suede finishes, it looks a bit weird, but maybe I just still need to get used to it, but for now it's topped off with a layer of top coat.

Here´s 1 coat with topcoat. First one in daylight, second in artificial light.

I´m not really sure if I like it like this. Maybe I should put something on top of it. Flakies or glitters, hm, I´ll think of something nice. What do you think of this one?

Thanks for stopping by!

Comparison dark holo shades

Goodmorning ladies!

Last night I went to a concert of Shakira. My daughter has been a fan since she was 3 years old. My sister learned her how to dance like Shakira when she was 5 or something. I promissed her that whenever Shakira would come to the Netherlands and she would be big enough, we would go.
Together with my sister the three of us had a great time. My daughter was pretty impressed by everything going on. And of course by Shakira. It was great to see her enjoying everything!!

Well, on to nail polish. Today I´ve got a comparison for you. I´ve read that people say that Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm and Color Club Revvvolution are very close. Since I recently got Chainmail Charm in a swap I thought it would be nice to make a comparison. Another dark holo I received in another swap is Bloom Mena, so I used that too in the comparison.

Index and pinkie = 2 coats of Color Club Revvvolution
Middle = 2 coats of Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm
Ring = 1 coat of Bloom Mena

As you can see non of them are dupes. Not even close actually. Revvvolution is charcoal, Chainmail Charm is dark brown and Mena is black. They don´t really seem that holo in the pictures, but they are just not like OPI Desinger Series or China Glaze Kaleidoscopes. The least amount of holo you see in Mena, but maybe I can franken it a little with some China Glaze OMG in it. I´m not sure yet. The other 2 I like very much and I´m happy they are not dupes!

Which of these 3 is your favorite?

Have a great day!

Let's do it 3 dimensional

Hi everybody!

Today I've got a polish for you from China Glaze. I'm not a fan of China Glaze, although I am a big fan of their colors. Application is just not the way I like it, but I can't really explain what the problem is. But the color is what matters most, so I do own quite a few China Glazes. And I think this is my favorite color from ChG. It's Let's do it in 3D from the kaleidoscope collection. It's a dark grey/charcoal holographic polish.

This is 3 coats with base and top coat of course. Some people say you shouldn't use topcoat on holo polishes, but I just don't like it without. You get scratches way to quick.

Somehow it didn't end up in the pictures the way I wanted it to.

I love holo and this is pretty unique. Much lighter than for instance Color Club revvvolution and darker than ChG sexagon.

It's saturday, yeey, weekend for a lot of you! Enjoy it!
